That's not a chi strike, that's a soccer punch.

Ever had your arm or leg corked?
This is what "chi strikes" are.
They're attacking at vital points and the ones that cork your arm or leg are exactly that. They're acupoints that respond that way when hit.
Ontop of the trapezium muscle striking down can seriously injure a person if penetrative enough, a hit which would cork a leg in the right fashion can do serious injury and in some cases cause things like vomiting.
Under your arm lies many points which can either blow the wind out of your lungs or even stop the heart.
"Chi points" are very often overly exaggerated, where they should be well known by now that they're just weak areas hit correctly.
(the temples an acupoint and a common "dim mak" strike, as with under the jaw in the neck etc)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carotid_sinus_reflex#Carotid_sinus_reflex_death

As to the vast majority of "chi strikes", they're basically nerve pinches, and are a very risky tactic in real life situations since there are vast differences in their effectiveness in people. Some people simply don't react to them, or have differences in anatomy so that the nerves aren't exposed in the same way.

CMAguy, as a member of our "society" you are not allowed to talk about this technique. We watch, we notice, we judge.

You have been warned.

>Ever had your arm or leg corked?
Er... corks are just muscle bruising, guy. There's no special point that needs to be hit to cause a cork, it's just muscle getting bruised by a blow. Anyone who doesn't live a medieval fantasy land knows this.

Also, there is no possible way for a blow to the arm pit to cause cardiac arrest, the level of ignorance it must take something like that seriously is astounding to consider.

No, maybe we know different terms for a corking.
Im in australia and a specific point on the leg WILL make you drop.

>>
Anonymous 06/26/14(Thu)14:36 UTC+1 No.440831 Report

>>440822
There is no different term for corking. Corking happens when the muscle takes a blow and is crushed against bone, causing it rupture and bleed (i.e. a bruise). That is literally all it is, there is no special place that needs to be hit to cause a bruise and your ooga booga pseudo-religion has no one weird secret to causing better bruises.

>under the arm
>ribs
For us english speakers, under the arm refers to the armpit, not your torso or flank. Either way, there is no place you can hit someone in the ribs that will cause a cardiac arrest. More so, if there were such a magical point, it would be through the sternum, since a blow to someone's flank would have to pass through their lungs to have any affect on their heart.
However as I said, you would have to be absurdly ignorant to seriously believe this sort of rubbish. Even doing a basic cpr course would give more than enough information to realise that the concept of punching someone anywhere in the chest and causing a cardiac is totally ridiculous.

>Im in australia
Get outta me country, chink and take your magical shadow boxing with you.

>>
Anonymous 06/26/14(Thu)15:09 UTC+1 No.440838 Report

>>440834
There is NO SPECIFIC POINT for causing a dead leg, hitting someone anywhere on the quad with enough force will cause the muscle fibers and blood vessels to rupture and tear, which reduces contraction strength and mobility giving you the 'dead' effect. There is nothing special about it at all.

That is not fucking Kung-fu chi strike. Have you ever watched a fucking Soccer game before? The players will fall down to the ground like literally over any thing. That guy could have bee lightly tapped and he would have fell over like someone shot him. Its just an act to get the other team a red card.

This is what Im referring to. Theres just a small spot on the leg (acupoint) thats really easy to knee and if you do it right your leg just falls in on itself and you cant walk.
Kids do it all the time>

I don't know about all this chi bollocks, but pressure points are definitely a thing. You can most certainly hit a specific spot on a limb to 'cause it to go dead with more ease than other parts of that limb.
Yeah, just hitting them can work too, but there are nerve clusters and all sorts that can be targeted.

its funny, if a hundred people call you X. you couldnt possibly be X no! all 100 of them are delusional and youre a special snowflake privy to ancient knowledge that only you could possibly understand

perhaps its time to seriously look in the mirror and ask, am i really X?

But what if additionally a million people call you Y, does it make them right instead of the first hundred? And why would it not be the hundred being right instead? Can the majority not be wrong in some instances? Take your mirror and ask yourself, why would you only be X?
