Lolita Co-ord Listing - Raging Ita to God Tier Loli Anonymous 07/15/14(Tue)19:39 UTC+1 No.7686240 Report

Recently we have nitpick threads more and more often. But everybody has different standards of what should be ita, nitpick, good or bad. Let's see what /cgl/'s standards really are.

Tips to keep things organised
> remove the "???" and name each column
(e.g. good, bad, acceptable, passable, nearly god-tier, etc)
left should be the utmost ita, right the best co-ords
> if you put more than 1 photo you can label them for ease of discussion
> you can change the number of columns

Just to get discussion rolling, not compulsory to answer
> from what point onwards is a co-ord is too lousy to be worn out?
> did using brand/indie/offbrand/replica affect your opinion?
> any specific things that determine what group a co-ord falls under
> which group do you think you belong to
>>

>>7686240
Interesting idea, I'll fill this out later
>>
Anonymous 07/15/14(Tue)20:09 UTC+1 No.7686303 Report

Also, do any of these things below affect how you group a co-ord? If no, just skip

> personality
Helpful, known bully, tripfagging, reputation on eglsales/LM,
> photography
> e-fame
> trendiness
Currently: long underskirts, pegnoirs
>how long they have been in Lolita
>closet size & closet desirability
>place they live in
>other personal bias

I'm trying to avoid using the word "ranking" - I hope we can talk about what makes a good co-ord and how good is a good co-ord. It's not a competition to see which individual Lolita is better, but I also know this is /cgl/

That's ita. Why are people afraid to use that word for anything that isn't a milanoo-tier monster?

Ita technically means painful to the sight. So I guess everybody has a different level of tolerance for visual torture...

Can't be arsed with filling the template. But I think Ita is just everything that doesn't belong in Lolita aka the Milanoo monsters, the cat ears, the bdsm accessories, the ageplay stuff, fandom coords that have terrible neon colors or non-lolita items that aren't loliable at all.

> did using brand/indie/offbrand/replica affect your opinion?
Someone with a lot of brand can still make it Ita by wearing a SNK jacket with it or something stupid like that. While someone with a higher quality replica/offbrand/indie item can make a lovely coord
> any specific things that determine what group a co-ord falls under
I think it is all about personal aestethic. I get really nitpicky when people bring in random colors like for example an all white/pink coord and suddenly brown shoes or a black bag. However I do not condemn it ita. Just something that turned an almost perfect coord into ''not quite there yet''
> which group do you think you belong to
I am a beginner, and I think my coords are terribly boring and you can nitpick a lot at them. But still a step above Ita.

ok, here's mine
>purple: please do not step out of your home like that. I won't go up and tell you you look bad but I'll stay away from you.
>yellow: honestly i think you can look a lot better if you put in the effort but if i met you IRL i won't say anything

some outfits are placed on the dotted line because i feel that it doesn't fall in either category.

from "good" onwards you look pleasant enough imo.

and to answer op, the use of brand doesn't affect me but if you decide to go the handmade/offbrand route (like all the purple co-ords) and you look bad then i just don't have a good impression.

Sometimes all you need is to have one very poor quality/mis-matching item that will bring a really good co-ord all the way rock bottom.

quality of photography matters, but only when i view pictures from a screen. it doesn't matter to me when seeing IRL

Anonymous 07/18/14(Fri)20:33 UTC+1 No.7693766 Report

Ok this took me a long time, everything was taken from closet of frills and there is a ton of utter shit on there. I tried to make this as un-biased as I could, because I honestly hate classic and know a lot of people on here.
I am going to list each number (In pic related) and talk about how I scored them. I don't think I am preaching for everyone its just my personal opinion.
1. Random purple hair, Random scrunched socks, spike bracelet, tights match nothing, very plain and just totally executed wrong I don't even see what they were trying to do with this.
2. Those socks are just bad, shoes are worse. Holding your vag always makes the picture look better right? the blouse matches some shades in the dress, but the ring does not. I would have chosen a different style blouse for such a straight cut jsk, makes her look really square. Otherwise, generally boring.
3. Bare legs, Black lines on blouse, that blouse is just trash honestly. Random flower crown. No pink was brought anywhere else into the coord and hair is really unkempt.
4. No purple match, from the crown to the overlay. Random Flower crown, flowers are not even on that dress. that bag looks like garbage and overall brings the entire outfit down.
5. Nothing about this is lolita.
I think everyone can agree on those,as soon as you look at them its just a big no. Here is where I get picky.
6. Almost ita, I fought about where to put this. I thought her sense was at least better than this. The reds feel really miss placed, and the cardigan is just out of nowhere. Nothing goes with the actual dress and I just think ita when I see this coord. Her bangs also bother the shit out of me.7. Ok slightly better, but still very shaky. Wine would have worked a lot better had she pulled it into more areas, preferably makeup/wrists or even small flowers on the shoes. Her neck/chest area is very open, and I feel she definitely could have used a nice neck piece in this coord to give it some life.
>>
Anonymous 07/18/14(Fri)20:34 UTC+1 No.7693769 Report

>>7693766
8. Generally I would have put this into the 'normal' or 'safe' category, but I keep noticing things that really don't make this average. the shoes don't match (maybe its the lighting) and pulling in a pearl necklace, or hair clip would have tied the dress in better. Its really boring and my eye doesn't have anything to really focus on, or pulls to a certain place, so I placed it below average.
9. Again, this is similar to number 6 however, the dress actually has some red in it, even though it doesn't look to be the same shade. The cardigan is a bit much, making it less than average, but the matching hair bow and shades of red is keeping it from being almost ita.
10. Standard, 2 colors, all shades are similar, very spread out and cohesive. Safe, but attractive to the eye. Would have gone for a different hair color, but that is just me.
11. Still pretty standard, but one thing I do like a lot is her shoes and bag even out with her hair. That is brilliant, but the coord is still a little lack luster.
>>
Anonymous 07/18/14(Fri)20:35 UTC+1 No.7693773 Report

>>7693769
12. Moving into the almost almost perfect, from what I can see this is a really good looking coord. All the shades match, and are evenly spread throughout the coord. I put it in the almost normal, because these items are from a set. Its pretty simple to match a dress with the matching head piece. The wig matches to though, so that is nice. The shoes, even though they are black, bring out the waist bow for me. I also enjoy how her hair fades into a chocolate color.
13. This coord was so close. The socks being scrunched really throws me off, and the bare arms is disappointing. the headpiece is definitely the main attraction in this coord, and is really beautiful. It brings out details in the dress still while complimenting the natural hairdo and not over powering the head.
14. I love this, but its not perfect to me. If she would have just brought out a little bit more of the gold (shoes, necklace, rings, gold hairbow) This would have been golden
15. I really enjoy this headpiece also, but the thing holding this coord back is its very cluttered. I feel like maybe ditching the scepter, or at least holding it away would have been much better. All the pinks match so A+ for that.
16. I adore these two coords. I just can't stand how big those masks are. Everything else is so perfect to me, if only they were smaller.
>>
Anonymous 07/18/14(Fri)20:36 UTC+1 No.7693777 Report

>>7693773
17. Okay, this hair piece is rad. The rose goes really well with her hair tone, and the tights are slightly off but still work for me, only because the shade of the see through part brings out her hair and rose. Sax shoes would have been A+
18. Winner! Silver in dress also in shoes and hat. Gold in dress on neck, small scepter, and small rosette. Tights match perfectly with dress and head wear, which also has the same shades of purple as the dress. Tied with black blouse to match the black trim of the dress and trim of hat. Love it.
19. Like I said, I dislike classic, however this is a fantastic coord. Shoes, dress, head, A+ Hat matches wasitline and bows, feather matches that blouse almost like it was meant to be. Hair color takes no focus away but still adds elegance to the look.

That was fun and interesting.

i won't put 16 so high up there. it's so all over the place and you don't know what you're supposed to look at. also they dress too frumpily, they have no waists no shoulders no necks therefore no bodies. i would kick this down to the red section.
i would put 19 down to the purple box because that hat just sits too weirdly on her head. maybe it's too big or it wasn't constructed properly, i can't tell.
i would kick 13 down to the red box too, her footwear ruined it for me, and she should either take out the reds or balance more reds around her legs
i think 14 should be moved up to most kawai desu box, the amount of golds are just right, any more and it's too tacky
i would shift number 9 to in between the pink and purple box. i'm sorry anon that she isn't tacky enough for you.
11 should go up to in between pink and purple too. she has the right amount of accessories; her dress takes most of the attention and you're able to ogle at how nice the ruffles are. if you spam too much accessories you won't be looking at the ruffles anymore, your eyes will be darting eerrrryyywhere and the dress loses its charm

It only matters if they're going to be regularly speaking the language. And there's absolutely no reason that they'd be doing that unless they're talking to a Japanese person that doesn't speak English or if they're going to Japan. In both cases, they'll be corrected.
