Can you get drinks to-go in...
Anonymous 06/23/14(Mon)09:43 UTC+1 No.5540026 Report

Can you get drinks to-go in bars?

I want to drink but I don't want to drive under the influence, I'd rather just take it home and drink it there.

if you're drinking at home then just go to the liquor store ya dingus.

No. You see, my local liquor store's in a dangerous area of town but the nearest bar to me is in a nice area of town. The people at this bar are really nice, they make the best drinks I've ever had and no matter where I go or how I make drinks, they never turn out as good.

You might as well ask why I'd go to 7-Eleven for a Big Gulp when I could just buy 2-Liters of soda.

Alright. I live sort of out in the boonies west of an interstate. Nearest "supermarket" to me is a Walmart just near this interstate, I wouldn't touch a Walmart with a 500-foot pole. Next option is a convenience store. The nearest convenience store to me is notorious for how often it gets robbed. Not taking that risk.

The bar is in a shopping plaza getting into this nice part of town. Go a little south from one of the main roads, you get to the shitty area of town where the liquor store is. Spending more than 15 minutes there is basically a death warrant in my eyes.

I don't like Walmart. The people at my Walmart are rude as all hell, it's hard to find certain things the way it's laid out, and they're not a very honest company. The way they treat their workers is beyond unforgivable. No wonder the employees are always such asses, they must hate their jobs.

It all depends on what type of liquor license the place has. The restaurant I work at, for example, can't sell anything, even unopened beers to-go.

In the UK most local pubs will oblige a "takeout" assuming they know the customer, I'm not sure if it's legal. Can't imagine big chain bars doing it. There's no discount or anything, I think its probably important for you that you man up and go to the dangerous liquor store. Even if you didn't want to drink I would advise this, it's unhealthy to live your life in such fear.

Buy in the early morning or just when the store opens? Buy a lot and store, so you only have to buy probably once a month. Robbers are probably still asleep if you go early.

How about ordering online or have it delivered? I don't know.
