How long should I cook my eggs for? What wattage is best? I have 1300 watts and a minute to a minute and a half usually works fine, but a friend of mine is telling me that 800 watts for three to four minutes is the way to go.

What do you guys suggest?

>put egg in microwave
>line egg with foil
>drizzle foil with ketchup
>turn on microwave for 10 minutes
>put ear against microwave door to ensure proper egg cooking sounds
This is the only way to cook an egg

Alright I'll give this a shot. Does it have to be ketchup, though?

i like them very lightly poached, so i just heat water to boiling, turn it off, crack eggs into it, and let them sit for about five minutes.

Cook your eggs till they are cold. Eat em when they are hot.

are you in some sort of mad scientist's lab? just turn a burner on high, put the pot with water down on top of it, and wait

I've never seen a microwave with a burner. I'm not looking for some Cordon Bleu shit here.

I've never seen a microwave with "wattage" as a control setting. Highest possible, watch-and-wait, i guess?

Really? Most microwaves have a power setting, which is simply a percentage of their max output. so, for example, if your microwave is 1200 watts and you set it to half-power, then you get 600.
