I kind of want to replace my cups and wine glasses with some kind of space-age, unbreakable, heat-resistant plastic. Can you guys recommend anything?

Seconding Tupperware. You'll be able to take that shit to your grave.

Keep in mind that not all Tupperware is microwave-safe. Make sure it's actually rated for it.

i just keep a bunch of old plastic soda bottles in my kitchen to use as glasses. I mean, i rinse them out first of course. But I save the caps so I don't ever have to worry about anything spilling. I had a dinner party last weekend and everyone was up and moving about the house so I poured everyones wine into the soda bottles with caps so i wouldnt get any stains on our carpet. For dinner we had a "make your own taco salad" party where I gave everyone a bag of fritos and then people would put the different toppings into and then we would eat it right out of the bag.

One of my guests commented that I was a "great recycler" and that really made my night

I used empty mason jars from other foods until urban outfitters started selling them for $9 each

Now I use riedel just to be on the safe side

It's not about the money it's about dignity

Neat idea, I don't buy much soda though. You didn't drink out of the bottles first, did you?

Yeah only their food containers are microwave-safe it seems.

O jebus this sounds so anal. I bet the party was a hoot....

you can buy mason jars from walmart/target a dozen for 15 dollars any size.

or you can get them for free when you buy the food that's in it, but that still doesn't take them away from urban outfitters
Anonymous 07/20/14(Sun)04:38 UTC+1 No.5617169 Report

well yeah, i drank out of the bottles first. but then i tore the labels off and rinsed them in hot soapy water before re-using them

well, 4 of the guests left early before i served the taco salad fixins, but the rest seemed to like it. everything was there, everyone had a good time

If you're not trolling then I truly pity you and your dinner guests man. That sounds awful.
