I need to know how I could go...

I need to know how I could go about making a go kart like pic related. More specifically, If I could use an existing frame or would I have to fab my own.
I'm thinking fiberglass for the actual body.
And a way to get the power to the rear wheels other than a long ass chain.

Anyone have any experience with this?

Looks to be a simple custom frame made from square tubing. Also looks like he has a custom single leaf spring front suspension to emulate hot/rat rods. The frame would just be a rectangle of square tubing with engine, chasis, and suspension mounts, shouldn't be too difficult if you know how to weld. The chain drive could be solved by putting the engine in the back like a conventional kart, otherwise you'll need a long chain or transmission + drive shaft + differential wich would be super heavy.

You could use a drive shaft like a normal car.

Google search for 'Cycle Karts'. They're similar to this and you can find free plans for their chassis' and stuff like that.

For the rear drive on a similar project I used a farm axle and carrier bearings. For the diff I gutted an old snowblower.
Not made for hi speed but it worked and all parts were free to me.
