Laser Alarm Setup Jeff N. 05/30/14(Fri)04:29 UTC+1 No.645300 Report

I'm looking to make a laser tripwire to entertain my kids. I'd rather not spend a lot of money, and this video claims it can be done for <20 which is great. The only problem is I don't have a specific parts list to make it and I'm not familiar enough with these parts to know just by looking at them. Can you guys give me a list of (specifically) what parts he used in this video/what parts will work for them?
Thank you all!

I checked it. They're trying to convince him/her to use another method. Plus he wants it sent to his phone. I just want to know the parts in this video.

Did you bother to read the schematic at 0:49? How about the power supply voltage and amperage, which are clearly printed on the side of the adapter, at about 0:30? Did you look on the two websites he lists at various points in the video which are where he bought certain specific parts?

I mean, there's handholding, and then there's spoonfeeding. We can hold your hand if you want to whine about how hard it is to solder things, but if you can't read a part number off a schematic, us repeating it to you isn't going to help.

obviously OP cant into schematics, so pointing out the schematic wont help.

if you check out the other thread which was referred to, you'll see a pic of some Spy Gear toys which will do exactly what OP wants, except it uses infrared instead of lasers for safety. I'd suggest OP try buying that instead, coz he'll probably blind himself otherwise. I see those toys at the thrift store every once in a while for $3.

there's another thrift store toy I've seen which uses a laser and mirrors - tho I'm not sure if it's actually a laser - called LaserMaze. that might be adapted to do what OP wants.

That makes sense now.
