Printing on Plastic Anonymous 07/08/14(Tue)00:26 UTC+1 No.664068 Report

Is there any rather cheap way to print on plastic at home?

A marker usually works...

Stencils and spray paint works great for me. Super easy to learn too.

Stencils: Either buy one, or make ones yourself.

And if your worried about the stenciled marker or spray painted graphics rubbing off, coat the area in a clear coat finish (gloss/satin/matte to suit your taste).

OP here. Already thought about it.
But I wonder if there's some way like transfer or silk -screening design for the plastic, just like fabric, ya know?
My idea is to customize some fake Beats I got, I guess stencil woudn't give me this much details like the pic, even if it's a 1 color design.

cut vinyl or water transfer printing.

I have a query that kind of relates.

I have a vintage engine with original paint job. I'd like to repaint it but it has printing on the side that I think was originally a transfer.

Best way to reproduce it? Pic not the design in question but indicative.

This the actual type of engine in question but not oc. Mine has much more of the label left than this one.

Isn't this essentially a sticker?

They do custom stuff too.

No affiliation, just topic related link.

>transfer paper

Just googled that. Is that only for fabric? Can the print withstand petrol?

clear coat over it

you can practice with some cardboard and spray paint. Paint it with a couple coats, then put the transfer on it, then clear coat it with a couple coats. Repeat until you feel confident

Have done a lot more looking into this. Seems doable.

In most cases printers assume white paper but can they actually print white.
