Or maybe I just grew up.

Where are you guys shopping these days? Online stores? Vintage shops?

Has the mall become completely useless?

You need some Rick Owens in your life. If you're not ready then defer to J. Crew.

Mall is dam near useless... Apart from. Going to outlets

Deals are so much better online then in stores and much bigger selection, I just go to the stores to get a idea of the fit

J. Crew is painfully boring. And I'm definitely not into Rick Owens.

I ingested a 20mg of adderall, walked into urban outfitters. Laura said the music was shit. I chuckled. As I looked at the books I remember how I hate my mom and bought a shitty Tao Lin novel.

I work at an urban.

everything mens-wise is extremely shitty quality versions of nicer things and blatant rip offs of streetwear brands.

basic tees are nicely cut but expensive for what they are.

womens department is amazing. wish we'd get an ounce of that creativity/ fabric sourcing for the men's, but until then, avoid like the plague. I hate when guys buy stuff from us.

UO womens is like your basic "college teen hippie lesbo" shop.

Everything screams "hipster-chick-smoke-yellow-american-spirits-working-at-a-co-op-bike-riding-2deep4u-shit-music-taste-lipstick-lesbian-but-she-only-kisses-girls-when-drunk-because-she's-so-randumm-XxxddD"

when I was first getting into fashion I thought UO was kinda cool. now when I look at their site I can't believe how much they just copy things that are popular. it's an empowering kind of feeling, knowing that I know what's cool long before it hits the shelves of Urban Outfitters

>I know what's cool before it's cool
Then you are not cool. It's only cool when you are a trend setter (public figure) or when everyone else likes it. That, be definition, is what makes it cool.

Save all your trouble and just buy your shit at UO.

man, I don't buy into that shit, I have my own stuff I like. I'm just saying that now that I see where these trends pick up steam and how they trickle down to the mass market, it makes them easier to reject, if anything. like I said, it's empowering. it gives me some confidence in my own ability to do what I want to do with fashion rather than try to get my ideas from "trends".

I don't really mind if what I'm doing doesn't make me any kind of trend setter. I think wanting to set trends makes you more susceptible to falling for trends.
