Right now, I'm beginning on Graphic Design major, kind of learn how to use the Adobe software, wondering am I good enough to get a graphic design related parttime job? I find most job offer requires at least 1 year of experiences. When you get a job, do they expect you to know everything? or you just learn it along the job?

no need to bump in here, this board is slow as fuck.

Concerning your worries: NO, you're not expected to know everything. But most employers expect you to be highly adaptive, which is THE MOST IMPORTANT skill of a good designer.

No matter how far you go, you'll always need to learn things from scratch as a designer!

no youre probably not good enough yet if youre just starting considering you need both experience and product. go to freelancer and start doing little jobs for cheap to build your skills and get a small collection of respectable work going.

If you're just starting a major, I would say no, you're probably not good enough for a part time job. You'll need to be fluent with all 3 major Adobe programs and also aware of a lot of terminology used in graphic design. I guess it depends on your background. I knew people that landed part time work in the middle of school but for many, they didn't have enough experience.

>not expected to know everything
Wait until you get a real job with a startup company, kiddo
>have to micromanage computers
>have to set up webinars
>have to design ads within limits
>have to design video segments from scratch
>have to micromanage multiple clients

OP, I was in a graphic design course in year 11 of high school. Then I took an advanced course my senior year. I got to use a macbook pro the whole year, had the entire adobe suite, and I was making stuff for local companies and entering in various GD related contests around New Orleans. Now I am at a community college in my second semester of visual communications. It sucks because I like making stuff, but none of the jobs will hire me because i have no experience. We just gotta keep on trekkin man.

I dont have any of the programs with me. I had to give the macbook and adobe suite back to my high school.
