hey /gd/

I've recently purchased photoshop and have been learning some tricks through youtube videos in hopes that I could create a logo for a blog I've been working on. I'm pretty happy with the result except for that the outter edges seem to be a little pixelated... is there a quick fix to this? any advice towards improving the logo would also be welcome.

The *real* fix would be to remake it in Illustrator, the *quick* fix would be to just use the blur tool or something.

Try increasing the resolution to resolve the pixelation. Also, try to vectorize it. It makes the graphic act as a shape supported by algorithms so that it can be resized fluently.

General advice: Something seems off about the text. It looks as if it's running out of space somehow. Also, consider what this logo could be going on. In most cases, the logo won't be placed on a plain, white background on menus, roadsigns, or advertisements; so try and find a color that works cohesively around the logo. Lastly, the foam at the top is a nice touch, but I would play with some other colors a little bit and touch up the way it curves in the glass.

Conceptually, this is a pretty nice logo.

thanks for the tips. doing some research on vectorizing now.

I played around with the text size/placement a bunch and I suppose that it's a little too big maybe? I just wanted to maximize the actual text... maybe I'll find a bolder font.

as far as finding a color that works around the logo, that was something I hadn't considered. should I just blast the entire outside part with color or maybe do a ring around the glass? looks like I have some more work to do.

thanks for your comments

Maybe just put the text much bigger next to the glass

I like the design and subject matter but you could try using two lines and upping the font size for a bigger impact?
