Well, if you're unfamiliar with Kel-Tec availability of things that AREN'T a PF9, then I should make you aware that you get what you can. Plus I plan on switching it out to a Beretta 96 grip, because I have a ton of those mags.

That said, it's pretty good. Not worth the inflated prices you see them go for, but it's fun. My wife loves it.

It's alright, bro, I'm just jerkin' you around.

Hey here's a question for you since you seem to know guns and I'm working to upgrade my collection:

I want a semi-automatic .22 in the range of $225 - $250, what get? (I expect 10/22 is going to be the answer)

I also want a semi-auto .223, but I don't want an AR, maybe $350 - $400 on this, if possible?

If you want a rifle, 10/22. Pistol...there are a lot of possibilities. I really like the S&W 2206, I've got three of them and I have shot tens of thousands of rounds through them. I googled them and apparently people shit on them for some reason, ymmv I guess.

As for your second request, a used mini 14? What exactly are you looking to do with this gun? I'm about to build one of these:http://www.hunt101.com/data/500/DSC_4786.JPG and it's just going to be used as a beat around ranch gun. I think you'll have to go used on .223 rifle for that price range, but I'm just going off the top of my head and there are probably some options that I'm leaving out.

I actually can't own pistols, yet. I live in NJ which has a "permit to purchase" system and I'm only 19. The only feasible way to do it would be to one FTF in another state and say it was gifted to me or that I lost it in a tragic boating accident.

Also, there's nothing wrong with used guns, I'm not trying to buy new anyway.

Lol I don't give a fuck, I was going to purchase out of state anyway. Even if I buy from an FFL, they don't know the NJ law on "scary features".

I'll be honest, I'm probably going to be suffering from a string of tragic boating accidents.

Not who you're talking to, but upside down outlets are preferable. The ground prong acts as a lock when someone may step or trip on a cord, making the plug not pull right out.

If you go into a hospital you will see all of their outlets are upside down. This is because it's crucial that their equipment does not become accidentally unplugged.

I'm pretty sure it is century's fault since the reviews seemed to show that it went onto actual galils just fine. Right now I've got some crappy BSA scope on there until I can put together the cash for a proper optic. The mount is offset so whatever optic you put on there should sit well out of the way of the iron sights.

I've had that happen many a time, the fix is super easy. For me, I think it started shortly after I started to use google drive to share my pics between my home/work computers. It's probably 4chan's fault, but that's when it seemed to start for me.
Here's the fix, always works for me and takes a few seconds.
>download gimp if you don't already have it
>edit picture in gimp(right click on picture, and hit "edit with gimp"
>go straight to "file" menu and hit "overwrite (filename)"
>overwrite your pic
>post it like normal from now on

Aw shit, you really have made progress. Now I feel bad.

I can get a barrel and BCG tonight, or I can have a VZ2008 at my door in a week. I really want the VZ, the .308 was in impulse buy. I plan on someday owning an AR10 but I can't even shoot past 100 yards so the .308 won't really benefit me.

What I like about building ARs is that I can order a part here and there if I have some extra cash. I even got a credit card for this so I would force myself to buy a part, then pay it off before buying another. I told my wife I would actually take some time to finish this build, although I didn't really expect it to take this long. And shit, I won't be able to shoot further than 200 yds unless I'm visiting family elsewhere, but there's something about a big ass AR that appeals to me.

How do you like the tech-sights? I am considering them on my triangle folder, but I'm worried the short LOP may not make them the best choice. What do you think?

Shit man I was shelling out at least $200 each time. The most expensive single thing so far has been $500 for the barrel since I was able to layaway the receiver set, even though it was paid for long before I actually got it, thanks Obama. Put back $50-100 each check for fucking around cash. These things take time. AR-10s aren't exactly cheap, even if you're building one.

15" With my luck, right before I order it Geissele will finally release their .308 rail and my HSLD boner will be unbearable. Although I think they said it was only gonna be 10" and 13" at first, so waiting for them to then release a 15" would suck ass.

I wanted at least a 15" so it would look right, I had considered the Samson, but it was too short. I also considered the CMMG REVO, JP tube, and Apex tube, but I really like the idea of keymod stuff and thin tubes, so I chose MI. Also check out the Lancer and AP Custom tubes, they're pretty sweet as well.

It's a Lilja 20", the 10740 profile which is basically just their standard HBAR profile without going bull barrel. And yeah, I got the JP enhanced bolt and LMOS carrier, along with their captured spring buffer. I didn't really compromise on much with this since I wanted something to be semi-proud of.

Holy shit. Yours is going to be way more badass than mine. I want to build a battle rifle first and a precision rifle next. I want this first rifle to be a learning experience. You are making me doubt my decisions though.

I completely agree. If I had gotten the shorter Surefire brake I may have even gone with the 18" AP Custom tube. I like ARs with long tubes and a little bit of barrel sticking out. Just the tip...

>>21324992
To each his own. When I was first planning the build out I was thinking a 16" or 18" barrel, like a black oxide Rainier select or something. But then I got thinking, if I'm gonna be paying for .308, I may as well turn this into a precision build so I'm not as likely to spray dollar bills indiscriminately downrange. I've got .223 for that. This is what I'm gonna use to start learning precision shooting on, while still giving me a lot of gun to grow in to.

It's pretty good. It's more accurate than I am, but I'm not sure how it rates against the CZs.
The stock's really small (it's more of a hunting rifle than a target one, it's almost a kid-sized stock) so you need to have the bipod really low if you want to rest it on your hand.
The scope rail's in a bit of an awkward position, and people tend to have trouble getting scopes on their with the right eye relief.
The iron sights are shithouse, you'll want to use a scope or get a ghost ring sight.
The trigger's fucking amazing, but you might find it a bit heavy. Again, it's more designed to be a lightweight hunting rifle rather than a bipod&scope target rifle.

I'm thinking of taking off the scope and bipod and adding a ghost ring sight to turn it into a more casual close-range plinker and then buying an LA101 or a CZ455 to use for prone/bench paper hunting.

And yeah, Type 53s are just the Chinese M44, so it's got the same bayonet.

I turned 21 in March and I'm considering expanding what I own. So far, I have:
2 Winchester 12GA single shotties
1 Enfield MK3*
1 Colt New Army .45 revolver
1 Arminius .22 8-shot revolver
1 Marlin .22 rifle

I have $1000 to play with and I'm thinking I'd like a handgun in 9mm or 40 S&W and a semiautomatic rifle of some kind, something a little more fun than just .22 LR.

What would you recommend for a $1000 budget for a fun semi auto rifle and a decent pistol?

Well, there's absolutely nothing wrong with that. You could do a Glock or S&W pistol in the caliber of your choosing and go with a used mini 14. Have you ever considered lever guns? I've had as much fun with them as anything else I own. A little model 94 trapper in .30-30 or .45 Colt is really fun.

I've shot quite a bit of 30-30 with a friends leaver action rifle. It was quite fun, however, I already have a bolt action which I can operate just as easily as a leaver. I've never owned a semi automatic rifle, so it's more out of curiosity, I guess. but it is what I would prefer to get.

I looked into the S&W M&P 40, which my coworker owns and loves. I have little babby hands, but it felt pretty good, better than the glock 17 I fired, so I'm leaning towards that 40, however, I see a lot of hate here for both the M&P series and the 40 S&W round.
