Got a question about the Willys Jeep.

Was it combat effective with the mounted MG? It's basically got no armor so the driver and gunner seem to be very vulnerable.

Personally I'd hate to be crewing the MG because I'm sure i'd be one of the first to die in a firefight or ambush

it was technically just a bit easier to move MG nest, doubling as an improvement defense system in case the guys driving the thing got into an ambush.

I highly doubt it, it doesn't really seem to add anything but an easily suppress able target.

they were already prone to flipping over without an M2 mounted on a huge lever.

How heavy was the 105mm recoiless you occasionally see on the Willys in photos, and how hard was it on the jeep itself? I'm fixing a '52 MB, and I want to find a 105, if at all possible.
