Anonymous 03/25/14(Tue)21:22 UTC+1 No.20547890 Report

I offer the vz-58 and why I think it's my favorite rifle of all time
pros
>ergonomics: bolt hold open and normal safety that isn't fuckhuge.
>boolit: 7.63x39 kills things
>weight: lighter than ak and milled reciever
>ammo concerns: comes with 4 mags standard and can feed from sks stripper clips to keep ammo weight down.
>accessories: not as cheap as ak but there is shit out there.
>20$ bayonet
cons;
>ugly
>rock in mags
>leftys need not sign in here
>aftermarket shit is pricey (200+ for just a decent stock)
>>
Anonymous 03/25/14(Tue)21:23 UTC+1 No.20547914 Report

also, more accurate than ak but not as accurate as free floated ar-15

>>
Anonymous 03/25/14(Tue)21:27 UTC+1 No.20547962 Report

the mags have to be rocked in ala ak style. and they only work the vz-58. But like i said, it can be fed from sks stripper clips. It's also a short stroke piston system so muh fouling is a lot less.

Somebody should make a decent looking stock for that poor thing, the foldable one is the best looking by far, but the rest (specially the after-market ones) are hideous.
I heard the mags are made of aluminium, If it's true and there are no aftermarket mags for it (on steel or better yet polymer) I'd mark it as -minor- Con.
Other than that, I see nothing wrong with it.
Oh, it should come with a side rail from factory.

Also, why no straight stock? All the stocks are angled downwards for some reason.

How does one acquire a VZ to begin with in the US?
I've yet to see one and I suspect it has something to do with the shitty sporting requirement the ATF has imposed upon us.

The only reason we have Saiga AK's is because they're imported in a retarded configuration that satisfies the legal requirement of being a "sporting gun."

Century makes Vz58s, they're called the VZ-2008. Despite the fact that they're Century, I've heard that CAI actually did a decent job with them and most work flawlessly.
If you want an authentic Czech one, Czechpoint sells them. However, they run out of stock quickly, cost about $400 more than the Century ones, don't have wood furniture, and don't have a bayonet lug. They do have a chromed barrel though.

AK

Accuracy isn't that much of a big deal since a good AK will hang with a good VZ and vice versa. I

Perfect replacement for original folding stock if you have longer arms, more comfortbale cheek rest(it's beefier) and it's easier to shoulder as the but end of stock is longer, wider and ribbed. Also the angle of stock is more in line with the barrel, so you get slightly nastier kick, but makes the rifle more controlable. My best purchase for my VZ so far
