French is one of the easy languages to learn , might as well. Disclaimer: I suck at learning new languages.

Hi.

Learning French will definitely help.

French is far more complex than English. Word gender alone means you'll be doing rote memorization for years. Verb conjugation is also a lot more complex.

french wasn't that hard to learn, it's just different from english in a lot of ways and for some reason native english speakers find the pronunciation hard.

I learned both in parallel. English is much faster and easier to learn.

We have more pronouns, more verb tenses to learn and words that sound like two syllables end up being 13 letters long. Mute letters EVERYWHERE.

Not to mention accents, cedille (I don't know the English term for it, deal with it) and all sorts of shit like that.

Oh, I thought you were saying you learned English faster and easier.

But French and English have about the same number of phonemes. English spelling is standardized at all. And as for tenses: http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/Category:en:Tenses
