Heard Edison was a douche and stole credit from Tesla and stopped him from making power free. Do you guys know anything?

NO.

NO; THAT WAS JOHN PIERPONT MORGAN.

Edison didn't really steal credit so much as try to slander Tesla's alternating current in order to promote his on direct current.

Ultimately AC was superior in most applications and edged out DC, but Tesla also invented many other things that were far ahead of his time.

Edison was a clever buffoon compared to Tesla, in my opinion.

Tesla was a genius, but a lot of the praise for him comes at the cost of shittalking Edison, which I feel is unwarranted. Edison was a genius in his own right, he didn't have anywhere near Tesla's prodigious head for mathematics or science, but he was an intelligent person and a ruthless businessman.

Tesla is arguably one of the greatest people who ever lived. That means that almost anyone else is going to look bad in comparison.

Edison deserves the flack he gets. He was a dick and his hunger for enterprise kneecapped his intellectual ability.

>If Edison had a needle to find in a haystack, he would proceed at once with the diligence of the bee to examine straw after straw until he found the object of his search. ... I was a sorry witness of such doings, knowing that a little theory and calculation would have saved him ninety per cent of his labor.

Edison is an absolute piece of shit, and a perfect show case for the "enterprising snake oil salesmen" that built america.

To quote from IASIP: "There are two kinds of people in america, dupers and dupees."

A cunning country, but a sleezy hypocritical one too.

Yeah, Edison was in cahoots with this guy named Scaresdale Vibe, who knew that Tesla was on the path to destroying the very foundations of Vibe's system of corporate fascism. So, Vibe along with his assistant Foley made use of an underground system of aerial boy-scouts, and the son of a known anarchist destroyed any chance Tesla had of altering the course of the day– Vibe's assistant could see the future thanks to his ability to step to the side of our universe.

Tesla is a popular underdog these days, but I really doubt he had the business savvy Edison had to make the same impact on the world.

Edison's company didn't just invent a phonograph, they created the first record company and paved the way for an entire industry. If Tesla would have invented the phonograph, he probably would have filed a patent and then gone on to the next invention/crackpot idea.

Geniuses don't change the world. Motivated people change the world.

Tesla was unfortunately apathetic about seeking attention or recognition, which is why we have no idea how to duplicate most of his inventions

Hi there!

You seem to have made a bit of a mistake in your post. Luckily, the users of 4chan are always willing to help you clear this problem right up! You appear to have used a tripcode when posting, but your identity has nothing at all to do with the conversation! Whoops! You should always remember to stop using your tripcode when the thread it was used for is gone, unless another one is started! Posting with a tripcode when it isn't necessary is poor form. You should always try to post anonymously, unless your identity is absolutely vital to the post that you're making!

Now, there's no need to thank me - I'm just doing my bit to help you get used to the anonymous image-board culture!

Edison made lightbulbs usable.

AC generators had been made and AC was in use before Tesla tried to get it started in the US

It's pretty entertaining how hostile your responses get while admiring someone you consider selfless. It seems more like you're interested in winning arguments instead of appreciating Tesla and Edison for their contributions to the world.

Tesla filed patents, but that doesn't mean he had a way to better the world with those inventions. AC's widespread application wasn't realized through Tesla, it was Westinghouse.

MICHAEL FARADAY WAS THE ONE WHO CAME UP WITH THE IDEA FOR AC POWER

TESLA IS JUST A JOURNALISTS WET DREAM, THE ONLY REASON WE TALK ABOUT HIM IS BECAUSE OF HIS IMAGE
