How do we eliminate the word "like" and its excessive usage from the English language?

>It's, like, 12:30pm
>it's, like, hot outside
>it's, like, my favorite book

etc.

By making everyone self-conscious about it. Over generations people would instinctively move away from it and with some luck pay more attention to how they speak.
>>
Anonymous 08/31/14(Sun)17:56 UTC+1 No.5367227 Report

Stop saying it. People are influenced by your speech patterns.

Of course, if you spend all day in your mom's basement posting on 4chan and don't actually speak to anyone, you're not going to influence shit.

Preferably, like, some miniature communist splinter party.

What about like used to begin reported speech?

So I'm talking to Cindy, right, and she's like, "What are you even doing here?"
And I'm like, "Bitch, don't act like you don't know!"

/pol/ here, replace it with "kike" in casual conversation.

Failing that, convince old people to pick up the habit so that it becomes "uncool" among the "hip" and rebellious children than have been ruined by degenerate modern society.

There are plenty of 'tards (both gay and straight) who want to ruin their lives by having kids. No need to worry about that front.

You should substitute them for onomatopoeias. Placeholders don't mean shit anyway, they might as well sound like this:

>it's, ZUM, 12:30pm
>it's, POW, hot outside
>it's, BANG, my favorite book

In 10 years' time, you'll be complaining about some new something else all the kiddies can't stop saying.

It's ridiculous, OP. But, I guess you charge at windmills for fun when you're unemployed and, like, don't have a girlfriend nor friends.

Anyway, OP, don't think of it as a word. It's just a verbal tick of the "um" "herm" "well" variety.

Use 'like' as much as possible until the english language implodes and we have to delete it.

Replace it with french, spanish, german, russian, farsi, mandarin, arabic, japanese.

"Literally" any language is better than english.
