Let's discuss pen names. What's a good way to choose a pen name?

A lot of people appropriate parts of names of people they respect/admire/mimic

Personally, mine is just an interesting version of my own name.

Why would you want a pen name? Unless you write stuff that you're ashamed of (erotica or something of terrible quality) or is illegal, what's the point?

It gives your books more appeal, at least in certain countries. In mine, for example, sci-fi written by a local author is snubbed, so if I wanted to write it and sell decently, I'd have to choose a more english-sounding name
