So where does everybody get their books? I use TPB because it's what I am used to but there are some I can't find, even with torrentz.eu

I assume OP is asking how come some books are never released when it's simply a matter of running them into a de-DRM tool...
... not everybody is part of the pirate ship, that's it. Lots of stuff does get released by "regular" people, but it's romance, YA or plebcore like you'd expect. The books you're looking for probably don't have such a wide audience.

or they are too rich to have to resort to childish piracy when they can just throw money at a bookstore and get what they want...then i realized those people all buy ipads.

Anonymous 11/19/14(Wed)03:59 UTC+1 No.5745821 Report

People who are pleb enough to buy a kindle are usually too stupid to understand internet piracy

so you're saying you want an e-reader with proper epub supprot, strict drm and ads? or do you just suck at writing?

Picture related.
Why don't more people use PocketBook?
>>
Anonymous 11/19/14(Wed)03:34 UTC+1 No.5745746 Report

The ad encrusted old versions are pretty nice, insofar as people will drop one on you for free after upgrading to whatever uber feature fest version is current. Then you can root it, dropping the adware bullshit and set it up however.

The first book is supposed to be lighthearted, as a "parody" of the chivalry literature and spanish society. The second one is more dramatic and sad. Won't tell you any details though.

Don Quixote, the Putnam translation. I know people will jump on me for not going with Grossman, but Putnam is recommended and it was the only thing I could find at my library.

Enjoying it so far, and it feels like it could have been written yesterday. Though I'm hoping that there's going to be something big that happens soon or eventually, something that will move me. Old men being insane is sort of an emotional weakness I have, but I'm curious to see if late in the book he'll have to come to terms with his often violent actions.

The scenes with Sancho shitting in the woods and telling Don the story about the sheep he had to count were hilarious.

It's not, but it is a nice barrier of inconvenience to keep most kindle owners on the Amazon hook. I know that sounds silly, but it really is that simple. Why do you think so many people buy from Itunes? I kind of like it this way actually so they won't take any more antipiracy steps and I can have all the free books I want.

For some reason most people are like "oh I can't read from a screen it hurts my eyes, its really uncomfortable" while they spend 8 hours a day at work in front of a computer screen, then 5 more hours in front of a PC/TV screen at home.

Yeah, it's the annoying thing with pirating books - there's no real "scene" like with movies or music, so there is no worldwide standard or anything.... I wish there were. I mostly trust mobilism now because there at least the forum thread talks about the quality, and most links are bought books

complaining about free things

Do you have the same problems when you read the original epubs in Calibre? Because so often, the epubs are just autoconverted from PDF, which introduces mountains of errors

Amazon would just lose because then you would react by buying other e-reader and they wouldn't even get the device money
>>
Anonymous 11/18/14(Tue)23:39 UTC+1 No.5744922 Report

epubs and kindle's azw/mobis are practically the same thing, zipped XMLs.

epubs are spread more because more viewers accept them. If you convert epubs to mobis, practically nothing is changed.

I dont fucking know, they are retarded maybe?

I pirated about 20 books yesterday, have them all on my kindle now. Of the books i was looking for, there was not a single one i couldnt find in under a minute.

I guess its better that a lot people arent pirating tho, that way amazon wont react and i can keep pirating in peace.
