Haven't seen one of these in a h-h-hwhile. How was your ride?

>finished work late
>11pm
>ride home on the snowy roads
>no one's driving
>ride over bridge that's usually too busy and narrow
>turn head sideways so the wind doesn't rush past my ears
>It's silent
>it's peaceful
(try this if you haven't before. it's meditative.)
>make turn off bridge
>feel sickening lurch as my chain skips
>night ends in realization of imminent purchases to be made

>How was your ride?
Got done with my warmup and was halfway through the first of 3 30-minute tempo intervals, and one of the rails of my saddle broke. Had to turn and burn for home, check the warranty status, and drive 30 miles to the LBS that I bought it from, who replaced it. TLDR: Ride sucked. Have to do tomorrow what I didn't get done today.

Can you please tell us the model of saddle and seatpost so I know what to avoid?
I may be shopping for for a new saddle soon and carbon rails are high on my list or things to consider.
Did you torque it up per specs?

It sounds bad but actually saddle malfunctions aren't usually serious.

I've had the saddle bolt shear twice, several years apart. I was just riding along and suddenly the saddle is loose and I'm holding it in my thighs while I brake.

You feel it come loose, you can't miss it. Then you just stand up in the pedals until you've stopped.

>riding to work at 3pm
>some guy in a shitty old car blows some blunt smoke in my face
>riding back home at 1am after drinking a red bull and smoking a blunt
>weather is amazing, road is deserted
>took a 4 mile detour

I fucking love night riding.

Sounds like he keeps a chef's hours.

Recently had an appendectomy, finally able to get on the bike, but I have to take it very easy. Felt so damn good until I got a flat and had to walk back home.
