I have a pretty stupid question /n/. I ride an old road bike. I have a fairly skinny seat and I have a slight problem. The bolts have a tenancy to rub the denim on my jeans to the point of tear. I'm thinking a wider seat may be the best solution is a wider seat, but I don't know if there are styles that are best suited for types of riding. What should I do? Pic related. One of the pants i've ruined.

Replace the saddle and seat post with one of a more contemporary design.

Cut the bolt and/or stop riding with loose pants

And please use the general next time

If your saddle is doing that sort of damage to a pair of pants then it's probably beyond worn out and I shudder to think what sort of damage it's doing to your *crotch*.

Aside from that you shouldn't be riding any real distances in jeans, anyway. Get some proper riding gear, and probably for the first time in your life you'll experience cycling that doesn't involve severe discomfort and damage to your crotch.

Jeans? Seriously?

I mean, can people even see your cock through those? What's the point?
You want to wear something like this: >>691738

Maybe I ride 150-200 miles a week typically over the last 6 years, have been through a few saddles, and you need to shut up and listen?

What kind of pathetic jeans are you guys buying?
I've put several thousand miles on my shitty $10 Walmart jeans and shittier-fitting stock Velo saddle and I've not seen any real wear in the saddle area.
In fact, the only bicycle-related wear on one pair was caused by a crash, not from riding.

Nice. Just when I was growing used to the idea of going through a couple of jeans a year due to my juicy thighs rubbing (>2014 >walking).

the wear in those jeans was from wearing only those jeans everyday of the year and riding my bike in them 6 days a week
If you ride your bike enough in jeans they are going to get wear that's just how friction works

You could buy several pairs of regular jeans for the prices they charge for that crap.

Pic related - rips happened in a span of 1-2 years.

These ripped jeans, my muscular legs and muh 2fast4u attitude are breaking my family apart.
