These arrived the other day and I'm about to put them on to replace my worn ones.

$10 for 5 disk brake pads.

Have I defeated the Shimano marketing team or am I about to die at the bottom of the first hill I go down.

If I don't post again in this thread, beware of aliexpress brake pads.

I've run Avid BB5 and now BB7 mech discs on my bikes for years. I haven't had much luck with any generic brake pads, they wear out really really quickly in comparison to the Avid sintered pads.

Even if you only get 500 miles from a set on the front you're still getting 2,500 miles for $10 and that's not bad.

Obviously conditions vary and different riders brake differently but I'd wager that the Avids are good for 3,000 to as many as 5,000 miles per pair and they cost $20 so you're spending about the same, you're just swapping out pads and creating more garbage to fill up the landfill by buying the cheaper pads.

OP here.

Casual trip to the shops and it's fine. They're the exact size for the brakes so that's ok.

Apparently actually $15/5, I forgot.

Not dead yet, they seem to work fine.

Just a question of how quickly they'll wear and that will take months to find out.

Not necessarily. Some of the crap pads serve long for casual, dry weather, Sunday riders, but will wear like butter as soon as you hit mud.

So take a look after some wet ride, if your levers already don't bottom out after the ride ;).

My brake pads make no audible sound. But every time I brake, dogs around me go crazy.

I checked, they're not made for my brakes.

I did ask in a few bike general threads before ordering these but no one had any real advice on the topic so I decided to take a chance on these since they're cheap.
