If they didn't want a cyclist there, why'd they paint a clear bike lane down the middle of the site? Checkmate, non-cyclists.
>>
Anonymous 03/22/14(Sat)04:06 UTC+1 No.639495 Report

Closed roads make the best cycling roads. Like little islands of cycling uptopia.

Last year there was an entire highway lane coned off. The shoulder was shit, so I was in heaven for several km.

Did I ride through a construction site on my bike? No.
Am I guilty by association because I like riding bikes? I guess you think so.

I thought this once and happily rode over a bridge which had just been repaired. It was early Sunday morning and there were a few construction vehicles sitting about, but the bridge worked just fine.

30 miles later I found that while I had made it across with no problems, snow plows hadn't. Dragging my bike over 4 miles of snow (thankfully compacted by snowmobiles) in freezing rain was not a fun experience.

I'd surely consider it again, but I'd think a little harder about it.
>>
Anonymous 03/28/14(Fri)05:50 UTC+1 No.642798 Report

>>642794
Why? Riding your bike didn't do structural damage that broke it when snowplows went over it.

It's not the only discipline of mountain biking, but it is its most potently distilled form. Racing up hills is an obscene perversion of the spirit of the sport.

Sometimes people go out and ride their bike for fun and don't give a shit about "the sport of mountain biking" or "the spirit of the sport." It's shocking, I know, to imagine that there are people out there who are less of pompous, pretentious faggots than yourself.

That's fine; they shouldn't expect to be considered mountain bikers though.
