Not $200 imo, schwinn is a average-poor quality bike brand if you ask me, not saying they don't have any decent ones.
Its not outrageously priced, but I'd pass on it. Its just another old 10 speed.

Dude any time you see a bike on craigslist that has the same kind of shifters as this bike has, and in the same location, it better be selling for less that $30.00. From this era no good model bikes had the shifters on the stem, look for the shifter on the down tube, or better yet just buy a stumpjumper.

I knew a professor with a Raleigh Super Tourer. Fairly high quality all around. It was basically a Raleigh Competition, which was second tier to the Raleigh Professional and Raleigh International except it came with north road bars.

I've also seen a few Japanese bikes, Nishiki I think, that were outfitted with Shimano 600 and stem shifters. They seemed to be an alternative to bar end shifters for some touring bikes. The difference is probably that bar end shifter support has continued because of the invention of aerobars on high end race bikes, but with the decline of the quill stem, there is very little support for stem shifters.
