/out/, how do I become rainproof?

I wanted to spend the day outside but it started pouring rain and it doesn't look like it's going to let up.

Is there gear I can get that could make sure my shoes, socks, pants and backpack don't get soaked?

First, note that there always will be a compromise between waterproofing and breathability.
you can just put on a plastic jacket and be rainproof, but you'll sweat like a pig.

Get a rain jacket, pants and a cover for your backpack. Goretext shoes. And layered clothing.

Umbrella or big ass tarp draped over you, OP.

Not to be a dick man but this seems like a really obvious question.
Rain jacket - many choices
Rain pants - many choices
Waterproof boots - easy to find for cheap these days
Pack cover - most packs come with this included

waterproof. pretty standard.

One tip I would give you is spend a little extra to get good quality rain jacket+pants. You can get them for 25 bucks each, but it'll be shit and not breathable. I got a set from columbia, 60 for the jacket and 40 for the pants, they are amazing and keep me dry in very heavy downpour, good features.

You can buy just the thin outer layer waterproof jacket/trouser combo that goes over your regular clothes if you don't want a proper jacket or you could buy a poncho.

Rain cover for your pack if one's not included.

Leather/Goretex boots.
