Any recomendations for additional items or replacements for items in my kit? Anonymous 02/16/14(Sun)09:51 UTC+1 No.271216 Report

Typically 1 or 2 day kit for tramping and camping.

Currently have

-Adequate Food and Water
-Portable stove
-Matches
-Sleeping gear (when applicable)
-Spare clothing
-Water proof jacket
-Cellphone (hired gps if I go miles out)
-Multitool

Any suggestions for additional gear?

2 sq feet heavy duty aluminum foil.
1 spool of heavy nylon thread and sewing needle
1 ferrocerium rod, stiker and waterproof tinder
1 headlamp (headtorch for Brits)
2 bandanas
Wrap lighter in duct tape (I like Gorilla tape)
1 folding saw
2 space blankets
50', 3mm nylon accessory cord

These additions are pretty unattackable and I wasn't even trying.

In 1 or 2 days, you'll hardly reach some place without cellphone coverage. Not really worth its price.

I would beg to differ the spot is so good to have you can even set waypoints on it like a gps if you find a superb campsite and the fact that your guaranteed help if theres trouble unlike a cell phone where if you get stuck in a canyon your fucked no thanks

I don't see a mention of first aid supplies. Including a pint of Everclear because sometimes it's your mind that got bruised.

Also, garbage bags maybe? Those things are insanely useful

And a fucking knife.
And some first aid, even if it's just two days.
