Going on a 70 km hike with two friends, never done this before, the route is very close to buildings and cities, so we wont die if we fuck up
We got a tent, sleeping bags and food/water covered, what other things might we need?
We know how to start a fire, but we don't know how necessary it'll be
If we do need start a fire at each campsite, do we need to bring firewood or should we do fine with firewood found in nature?
I got plenty of wood in my house

Fuck, I sound like I'm inexperienced as fuck
I've done camping in the wild before, surviving of nature for a few days, but that was during late-autumn and during the winter
No clue about the summer though

>bring firewood
You mean carry with you all the time? Does that sound reasonable to you?
Why don't you bring a gas stove?

We're pretty big guys, we can carry quite a lot and the stuff we're bringing divided by the three of us isn't really a lot
Then again, if we're able to not bring unnecessary stuff, fuck yeah we'll do it
Don't have one

finding firewood is very hit or miss. depending on the weather you may not be able to find any dry enough to work with. If you do go that route, look for dead branches still attached to trees, they're naturally kept up off the ground and moisture. any stick touching the ground is probably wet as fuck.

that said, smarten up and make your own alcohol stove. buy a bottle of everclear or bacardi 151 to fuel it, it doesnt take much at all.
Just fuck with it til you find the perfect height to put your pot/mug above the burner. too low or too high is inefficient and wastes fuel. you should be able to make coffee and oatmeal with a tablespoon of fuel.

Also, you sound young and kinda stupid, so if you decide to drink your fuel, please take it slow. its a fuck of a lot stronger than the smirnoff ice you usually drink.

Also, you need to push a ring of raised dirt or something around the stove to keep the wind out, or put the stove in a small hole.

combine a v8 can and a red bull can to make the stove, they're like .1 mm different in size so they slide together airtight.

Just bring a hatchet. Finding firewood isn't very hard, and bringing your own is the stupidest thing I've ever heard.
Have you ever camped more than 10 feet from your car?
