Is /out/ the right place to discuss about shoes?

I'm so fucking mad right now /out/.

earlier this year i bought 2 shoes, Reebok and New balance.
each one cost me around 200$.

after only few months of use they turn out to be complete shit. i had mid workout just because the cheap plastic kept stab my heel.

I know it's probably my fault because i bought made in china trash.

anyway, i'm looking for god tier pair of shoes.

what's my options?

Here's the new balance, the little white plastic in the middle doesn't look harmful but this piece of shit made my heel bleeding

Oh man. I don't know about Reebok, but fuck New Balance anyway.
I decided to invest in a pair of runners as I took up running, and army surplus or hikers aren't the best for that.
Thought I'd pay out for something decent rather than have a supermarket pair fall apart after 2 weeks.

The only type of shoe that they had in standard black were New Balance. Pic highly related.
>The current fad appears to be wearing "I'm a raging faggot" flourescent multicolored shoes with obscene laces, so it really limited my options.

Dished out cash. Fell apart in 2 weeks. The right one's sole fell off first, then all the stitching pulled out on the sides. I ran maybe 100km.

Good runner reccomendations appreciated.

Anyone have recommendations on a good shoe that wont fall apart like the above, whilst addressing severe arch pain during running? By severe I mean it stops me running before my cardio fitness does!

If you had pic related, thats a basketball shoe, probably the reason it fell apart.

I prefer ASICS for running shoes. I've had the same pair for going on 4 years and they are still going strong, I only use them a couple times a week so your mileage may vary, but they are a good shoe.

Actually I looked it up and was wrong, that shoe is a cross-trainer. Still not really good for hardcore running

Sounds like you have fallen arches. I'd reccomend getting custom formed inserts. They do them at the shoe store for about 50 euro-bucks here.
They mould them to your feet in-store, stick em in your shoe and solves all kinds of problems. Pic related, machine measuring weight distribution prior to correction.
When I wear any kind of footwear, my posture gets all fucked up because my arches are very high, so for mine the toes are forced upward to bring everything into alignment.
Yours would probably force your arches up to restore the proper shape, at least while you are wearing them.
Both a mate of mine and co-worker with fallen arches got them, never looked back, best thing ever. Love mine too, no knee pain since I got them.
They last about 9 months to 2 years, depending on what your doing.

If you have the cash, you can also slurge on high quality ones from a clinic. They can be many hundreds, but again, I hear they are worth it.

pair IF asics lasted me a year of running every day at least 2-6 Niles in the army. right now I'm going 5 months on a pair of mizunos and they are the best runners shoe I've had for the price, they take a little to break in before they're really comfortable though

I'm only pissed because mine seem to work for a while and then they go flat. They're made out of EVA foam. I don't have enough money to buy custom ones and these help somewhat, but it's fucking hell to have to walk really slowly and get tired after ten seconds of running because of arch bullshit. When I wear insoles I don't have those problems but lately they've been failing me.
>>
Anonymous 06/18/14(Wed)12:53 UTC+1 No.334867 Report

Thanks for the suggestion on insoles.

I had tried a cheap ebay 'one size fits all' job but perhaps custom is the way to go. I'll look to finding a runners store that can do it here in Australia but I will likely have to see a podiatrist for that ($400 later I bet!)...

Seconded. I have an old pair of their trail runners that have lasted me 3 years. Ran in them yesterday but I got a new pair for father's day. They're 'out for delivery' as I type pic related.

yea, they're pretty fucking ugly. I don't get the color schemes at all with running shoes but whatever.

fucking black running shoes you serious? Who the fuck cares what color they are get the best running sneakers. Those all black NBs are for autists and resturaunt workers

Favorite running shoes from the last ten years (i do long distance trail running) have been a pair of asics regular running sneakers which I still use for track, neighborhood and treadmill (theyre grey if you care so much about color) a pair of saucony xc flats/spikes for competition, and my most recent are a pair of NB trail running shoes. 800 something i think is the style? anyway so far they seem to be great, theyre ugly ass yellow but they fit well and the ankle feel is great for trail

Not autist, man. Just don't want to wear Easter egg shoes if at all possible. Same reason I don't wear pink t-shirts with sparkly gold short-shorts, you know? No matter how comfortable that might be.
Don't give a fuck what other people may think, (clearly they'd like it given the current style) I just feel weird in flamboyant clothing.
To each their own!
