My wife and I are going on a hike/camp soon. Help me compile a list of shit i need. I havnt been camping since i was a kid and I am Army now. I dont want to have my wife laying in dirt and fire ants, so what do I need for a comfortable camping experience. We will be hiking about 6 miles in, I will have a Gen2 ILBE on my back and she will have a 5.11 48hr bag. If you dont want to give a huge long list, just gimme some stuff that people forget

Probably banned for posting in the wrong board since this is being innawoods is not related to weapons.
I'm new to this board myself as I'd like to go innawoods with a /b/uddy.

What MOS? I didn't do any field ops because I got booted for EPTS and chaptered out. Sneaky bastards.

But anyways jut bring your favorite MREs or if you want the experience do some home cookin'

It was off topic now that i think about it. Has anyone here ever given themselves a hydration enema if they were not capable of drinking due to pain. I recetly had surgery and was stumbling around and shivering. I drank the only way I knew how

Is getting the esiest job in the Army something to be proud of? Infantry.mil
Do I still have to lay on the fucking dirt getting eaten by georgia fire ants? Yes, and I dont want my wife having to deal with that shit. Recreational camping

Anonymous 03/23/14(Sun)01:45 UTC+1 No.290982 Report

No need to get fanny sore about it bud :^).

Anyways Id work your first aid kit in accordance with fire ants, dehydration, swamp ass etc..
Id make sure your campsite is brushed away and clear so you dont wake up with any extra friends in your sleeping bags.
Other than that everything I listed before should be fine for you. Its Georgia so its not like its anything dangerous unless your allergic to fire ants

Story of my wife. Deathly allergic to bee stings. So thatll be cool to deal with
Thanks for the advice man
Anonymous 03/23/14(Sun)01:53 UTC+1 No.290990 Report

bring 2 epi pens with ya Id say too. Ive only traveled through Georgia so I dunno how their bee population is, but if youre 6 miles from your car it wouldnt hurt to be safe.

Wtf? Warren Oates as Sgt. Hulka from 'Stripes', the Big Toe of the Foot?

Whatever, you're fucked up on meds.

Here's your lust list:

2 - Nemo Noturne 30 bags. Zip together "couples" bags. Trust me.

2 - Big Agnes Q-Core SL inflatable pads. Comfort is key to climbing on top of her!

2 - Thermarest LuxuryLite UltraLite Cots. These are the key to getting her off the ground with those fucking fire ants! No stone will probe her backside w/o your permission! Under 3#'s, (2.65#'s).

Combine the cots with the pads and zip together bags and your on the inside.. if you know what Iean, wink, wink, nudge, nudge.

2 -Helinox Chair One. You will need to sit off the ground and ply her with wine first. These are just 2#'s.

Anonymous 03/23/14(Sun)01:59 UTC+1 No.290995 Report

Folks* haha
Yeah. My biggest challenge right now is in a sleep system, I have no experience in that department outside of Army sleeping bag and pop up campers from youth
