The Mad Trapper Anonymous 02/18/14(Tue)00:27 UTC+1 No.272205 Report

Anyone hear of Albert Johnson/The Mad Trapper? Just listened to this radio doc about his manhunt, thought /out/ would enjoy it.

Yeah.

'From The Archives' is great.

Just how different the style of this old documentary is. It's less sensational and bullshit.

It's literally just quotes from eye witnesses strung together by very little narration.

Unlike modern reporting/documentaries, which are all garbage. With out of context quotes or interpretations rather than reality. The ego of the narrator/host and their attempt to tell the story trying to outshine the actual story.

>guy gets shot in chest. travel 21 hours straight to get him back to help. 1 of the dogs died from exhaustion. One of the guys did it on foot
>part of the force trying to hunt him down showing respect for how fucking crazy/skilled Johnson was to be able to run and operate in -40(C/F) Northern Canadian winter.

That's what I enjoyed about it alas well. Very refreshing without the radio garbage sound bites and promo junk shoe horned into any radio show nowadays. I particularly liked listening to the actual folks tell the story

Just finished. Thanks again OP.

Recommend you all give it a listen.

It's like what if Proenneke had a past of violence and was running from the cops.

Guy was /out/ as fuck.

I remember seeing both Challenge to be Free and Death Hunt when I was a kid, thought they were awesome.
