Do any of you guys remember the brand of some Korean LED displays that were IPS and awesome and pretty cheap as well.

Also, general display thread.

There were a few different brands, Yamasaki and Catleap were the first ones.
Keep in mind that they use second grade panels; colour accuracy leaves a bit to be desired despite being IPS.
I would suggest getting something like an Ultrasharp if you intend to do serious work. Otherwise the Koreans are perfectly fine.

Never know; these could be binned panels that are perfectly good and wholesome. The actual issue is lack of quality control; these companies are scavengers, and you have no guarantee that you'll get said good panel. Could get a slightly inferior one, or downright bad... Just whatever that is left after the good stuff is picked up by higher bidders. Models also come in and out, or just no models at all, and various parts even in a model... A lot of other companies work in similar ways in other markets e.g. PNY for memory sticks etc.

So it might be pretty good, or not very, but you'll never know until you get it.

Monoprice is actually selling these now. If you want to save on shipping, they're sometimes in stock at monoprice's amazon store and you can use Prime. nfc why monoprice has an amazon store.
