Hey guys,

I bought one of these, and Opteka .3 fisheye. It is a 37mm thread mount. I have a 37mm adapter to go on my phone which is a GS5. I can't get anything to focus. The adapter thing I have is a beastgrip, given to me by a friend as a gift. Everything I have looked at/read has this stuff working great. Any ideas on why I can't get it to focus?

BTW, I am pretty poor so I can not buy a DSLR or nicer camera, all this shit was given to me by friend, I won my phone and I have no photog skills have no concept of technical stuff, so before you call me a fag just know that

are things close by out of focus or are things far away out of focus? or both?

Why did you buy this thing?

everything is, because I wanted wide angle and the videos on Youtube looked pretty cool. Thought I could use it in ways other than skate videos and be pretty artistic since I am not

I don't know then. Ask the people who it works for. I put glass from a taken apart lens and it usually focuses things really close. Good luck.

I suspect the filter thread is at the wrong distance from your phone lens.
Try hand holding the Opteka lens against your phone at various distances.

Also maybe the auto focus gets confused.
Try focusing the phone at various distances first (near, middle, far), then putting the Opteka lens over it.

this.

the opteka lens is designed for camcorders, which have different lens construction

Yeah, OP has won the phone yet it's worth about $700. He could sell it nevertheless.
