I am looking for a nice on-camera flash

what should I look into? I am using a Nikon D5100

I saw some old asian dude cranking out some SWEET pics with his camera today and I was just wowed..he had some weird on camera flash, I should have stopped him and asked what his setup was...

pic unrelated, it's a picture I took at a car show.

learn how to take properly exposed pics in bright day light before you learn flash.
also get better lenses. the color fringing is bad.

after this, learn about flash photography.

THEN get some flash gear.

>fringe everywhere
Wtf lens is that?

After you get a new lens and learn how to properly expose try a yongnuo with ttl but learn how to use it manually.

YN560. Which version is up to you, but the mark ii version is best value imo. Next time post this shit in the gear thread.

A 35mm on a Nikon aps-c is ~53mm,so my guess would be Nikkor 35mm 1.8 DX, and the 1.7 is just a rounding error.
