looks like you purposefully blurred the background while editing, and the result is very shoddy. the blur looks really grainy. what was your iso?

portra 400 film

shot on a 50 1.4mm lens

i didnt blur anything in post.
The only thing i wasnt sure about was i sharpened the whole picture, not sure if i should just mask sharpeing over the model?

you sharpened way too much. it looks grainy. Getting the hang of unsharp/mask is a little process. I normally wouldn't do it on faces.

Your model apparently only has one expression.
>>
Anonymous 07/25/14(Fri)10:34 UTC+1 No.2371187 Report

Her face in the first three is like barely a half stop overexposed and its bugging me. You nailed it here >>2371155

As for the digital ones, ho much airbrushing did you do on her face? She looks like a real doll, the make up is far too unnaturally smooth looking.

Its dodge and burned no blurring but yeah i did go pretty hard on it.

You have a *lot* of scratches on your film shots. Clean your camera, develop better/change lab, handle your negs better, etc.

People have a point though - that grain isn't typical of Portra, even 135. OP just went overboard with the sharpening.

yet another post of the dull poses D800 faggot

how come youre not one inch better than about 3 months ago? film ones look shit but have a glimpse of soul. digital ones, are dull and soulless as always

>>2375425
To be fair most of the poses are dull. But you do have talent, you and/or your model need to work on posing though.

>>2371144
>>2371149

I like these poses the best, I can't help but wish you used a longer lens for a great pin-cushion effect. That focal length does not suit her head. Pic related.
>>
Anonymous 07/30/14(Wed)13:08 UTC+1 No.2375443 Report

>>2375435
Pincushion distortion is not what you think it is and it isn't related to the focal length of a lens. Do your research, ya dingus.

And sometimes I jump in and say "well how should he do it better? Do you have any examples?" and he goes all crazy retarded and can't produce anything useful or intelligent in response.
