The government is putting fluoride in the tap water.

What does /sci/ say about this? Is there scientific evidence proving its safety?

You really couldn't google this question?

Anonymous 06/26/14(Thu)20:04 UTC+1 No.6612685 Report

I think it's retarded, fluoride exists in toothpaste, all of the dental benefit you get from it, you can gain from applying it topically, I see no reason to have to drink the shit.

It's fine as long as it's the proper amount, so they should run tests to check if the water doesn't naturally have fluoride in it. If there's an excessively large amount of fluoride in the water it might lead to teeth deterioration.

If you are referring to the United States federal government, then no it isn't. Tap water is provided at the local level, mostly.

>Is there scientific evidence proving its safety?

Yeah.

Anonymous 06/26/14(Thu)21:12 UTC+1 No.6612798 Report

Your water probably also contains CHLORIDE.

If I were you I'd probably never drink tapwater again - that is, if you don't want to get BRAIN CANCER.

The government is also putting dihydrogen monoxide in your water supply. Make sure to be paranoid about every beneficial additive and only take them in proper dosages.

It's not the goverment, its the bad piping plastic system dissolving into the water because of all the friction.

You can find the same type of toxins in plastic bottles.

You should blame your government for putting too cheap pipes. Thats the main problem here.

Alright, I've been meaning to ask one of you people like this for a while.

Do you actually believe that these people are shills? Like, do you actually think somebody is literally paying these people to say this stuff on an internet message board? Or is it just a rhetorical kind of thing, like how calling someone a "Nazi" doesn't literally mean you think they're a member of the National Socialist Worker's Party.

If you live in a country that exports aluminum, you get to drink fluoride, due to it being an industrial byproduct that is being laundered through your body. If you live in the USA, you get massive doses, ever increasing over time, for its potent brain effects. You get your state-run medical system recommending special ultra-potent doses for infants, who are fucked that much harder by it.

Look up "Excretion of retained fluoride in man.", Spencer et al from the Journal of Applied Physiology.

The study found that even when ingesting 10 times the average daily intake of fluoride from tap water, the human renal and excretory systems can remove over 90% of it daily.

>>

>>6613147
It retains 10% a day when you're ingesting 9-10 times the typical intake.

When the subjects in the research stopped taking the supplements their renal and excretory systems flushed their systems of the excess fluoride in about a week or two.

When you're receiving a typical intake, your body removes all but trace amounts.

Look up the paper it goes into way way more detail.

Calcification of the pineal gland is a natural process. It typically starts after puberty and continues until old age

Neither the drinking of fluoridated nor non-fluoridated water have been shown to affect the rate of calcification

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if some of the SpaceX fags are on Musk's payroll, but I doubt Big Oil is interested in 4chan.

/v/ had confirmed shrills, and not just Andromeda. It's a popular site, so it's not out of the questions for companies to do PR/advertisement here.

Effects aside, here's a real gem:

The government doesn't look into how much fluoride people consume from tap water nor do they keep the amount they add consistent. It's all a shot in the dark.

So much for "science".

Yea in this case it's /x/ tards thinking normal people are shills.

>>6613211
A shill is a guy who is paid to viral market, just because you work for a company doesn't mean you are a shill. /v/ actually has plenty of guys like pick related that are actually payed to advertise the games and create hype before launch. Also I don't think typical 4 chan user is exactly on XCOR's target customer base, unlike a video game company or something like that.
