What do you think of Warhammer...

What do you think of Warhammer Diskwars?
I tried it this weekend and it was pretty fun, but I don't know anyone else who plays it around here.

Pretty terrible. There's a good reason why you won't find many people (anyone) playing it.

I thought it was good! Although miniatures would look cool, the movement is quick and it's easy to learn. Carrying large armies is a pain, and they're usually so fragile and expensive.

Also, it's pretty inexpensive with 60 units and terrain in the core set.

I think the main flaw of this game is it's disk flipping movement. You always end up slipping and moving about, sometimes you cant proper pick up the disk, sometimes there are millimetric distances that fuck everything over, it just doesn't work. Most of the time i feel like i am either cheating or being fucked over.

I would have MUCH rather had movement based around the little range stick and maybe, just maybe, have square cards instead of rounded cards, though i can live without that. Actually now that i think about it i am just going to measure a disk and use a ruler instead of doing the dumb flipping.

I was really into the original diskwars, and the doomtown version of it, range wars.
They're decent games, a nice way to handle minis games without the minis. It's just that since I have a complete set of range wars, I don't really feel like I need to buy into more disk minis.

how do they do ranged attacks in warhammer diskwars?

you could EASILY play this on roll20, much easier than vassal for this type of game tbh

It's good, the best thing you can do though, is head to your local craft store and buy a 3x3 piece of felt for about 5 bucks. Makes the game way better.
