/toy/soldiers, do these look like they're worth it?

I've been looking at the picture online for these (and Iron Man) and this seem like a line I'd love to collect but 5500+ per figure is steep as fuck for a goddamn Figma?

Yes it is. Buy a marvel legends, they are bigger and cheaper.

Fuck that

Buy the marvel select

It's bigger, cheaper than the figma (at least), looks about 10x nicer, AND is more poseable than the hasbro.

Hasbro one looks alright, but the articulation doesn't even make up for the bad facesculpt.

If you want quality and articulation, the Figma is pretty much your only option. The Marvel Select figures look okay, but features shitty American level articulation, sloppy paint and no where near as much detail.

If you're a big enough fan, want to be able to pose your stuff and can spare the cash, go for the Figma's. Otherwise there are cheaper alternatives that will do you fine.

They're called joints, they're used for posing the figures in different positions like you can see in the picture. If you're used to buying Hasbro stuff, I'm not surprised you're unfamiliar with that.
>>
Anonymous 06/15/14(Sun)11:07 UTC+1 No.4230106 Report

>>4230105
Hasbro uses double joints, because figma single swivel disk knees stick out like a cancerous tumor. Even bandai knows this and use double joints on their bugmen. The figuarts iron man looks netter than the figma ironman. It even has diecast.

The pic in the op hides the joints pretty well. Gotta pose them dynamically for gaijin sam to buy huh?

They are very steep, even for a figma. But they're probably the best figures there's going to be of Cap and Thor for a while. The quality of the articulation, paint, and materials are going to be high but there are plenty of people who are turned off by figma's attempt at real faces. Granted the face sculpt isn't really any worse than Hasbro, but I've heard people complain about an Uncanny Valley-like effect. Personally I'd say only get the figma if you really love the character. I'll probably only get the figma Iron Man, and settle for Marvel Legends for Cap and Thor. All in all, they're worth it only if you want the best figure for a character you really like.

>>4230106
Figuarts actually puts some work into their double joints. Hasbro's double joints are...adequate? I'd take tumor joints over Hasbro's craftmanship any day. I will agree that Figuarts Iron Man looks really nice though, but I'm not a fan of the Mark 42 suit.

You trolling or blind?
... well, i guess you might just be reading into their mushy simplistic cartoony faces and believe it's as good as Hasbro's more detailed faces.

i'm really wanting to get a figure of guts and casca, 100 dollars shipped seems to be the cheapest way to get them both
is this the best way to get it or is that a foolish amout to spend on them?
i doubt they'll go on sale, unless they'll be rereleased? (i'm not familiar with the figma brand)

Figma's faces look bad, but at least they look sorta like the actors. Hasbro does some good faces occasionally, but for the most part the paint completely ruins how the face looks. I can't get over how Black Widow constantly has googly eyes. Faces like >>4229009 seem common.

I know some people prefer the Hasbro because they prefer the more simplistic faces over the mushy realistic faces, but personally I'd consider the figma faces to be better. Maybe not 70 dollars better, but better. If you want to show me what you'd consider a good Hasbro face sculpt, go ahead.

I'm assuming that there will be an extensive wave of legends for the avengers 2 next year? The only thing that is pushing me to buy these is that the legends I want are retarded aftermarket prices right now and these have a better likeness to the actors; but if I can get something I'm satisfied with for a fraction of the price I'd prefer that option.

Figma rereleases are pretty rare and usually tied to some new media or another figma release of the same property

More things have been getting reissues as of late, but don't count on one
