Hey /toy/, see that push dagger weapon in the middle of the set? I found one of those on the playground yesterday and flipped my shit. I immediately recognized it as being a TMNT weapon since I played with the original toys a lot as a kid in the 80s.

I was with my friend at the time and told him what it was and he didn't believe me that it could be a 20+ year old toy would just randomly be found on the ground. Reminded me of when Battle Beasts were popular and I used to find their weapons and parts on the ground in my neighborhood as a kid.

I just went to research this and found pic related. I guess they got a recent re-issue? When did this happen?

Also, what is the coolest /toy/-related thing you've ever found on the ground?

The first wave of TMNT toys gets reissued pretty frequently, actually. Like others have said, there's one set at TRU currently, but they were also reissued like 5 years ago, and before that they were reissued at KB toys in 2000 or so.

Found a G2 Slag on the playground once. Both its horns and its lower jaw were missing though.

I found something that belonged to my best friend that I foolishly lost prior.

Many Falls ago I went with my mother to my elementary school's bi-monthly PTA meeting. I had been forced to attend these in the past, but this time I decided it would be best to have bring friend along. My friend and I had been accustomed to going everywhere together, so this wasn't out of the ordinary for either of us. While my mother entertained the conference inside the school, us children that were forced along found our way outside to the playgrounds. It was there beneath the massive rod-iron constructs that my friend and I settled down to pass the time. Puddles, a long time acquaintance of mine, was rather fond on being submerged in all manner of things, so I took to burying him amongst the gravel that stretched out everywhere around us. He was a light skinned fellow, and thus amongst the sea of pebbles he would seemingly vanish from sight. Unexpectedly there was a call-out to the children to grab some boxed beverages and hostess confections - I hastily exhumed Puddles and carried him with me to claim my treats. This was a grievous error on my part, for upon my return to the junglegym I had finally noticed that something was terrible wrong with my friend, he was missing his one accessory for which I coveted, a slab of flesh that would reveal his "Dino Damage." Wolfing down my snack, I thrashed at the gravelpit with great fury, but it was to no avail... Soon I was recalled by my mother, the sun was going down and it was time that we made our leave. Positively devastated, as one could imagine, I had officially lost a piece of my best friend, and thus a piece of me went missing from that day on.

For three years I would return to that very spot and aimlessly scoop hand-fulls of pebbles away until the wet underground was revealed, and every time I would come back up empty handed. Almost every time, that is...

A full year had passed since I had abandoned hope, but I was constantly reminded of my failure each time I looked to the shelf my weathered friend was sitting. The years had not been kind to him, it was a bit of a downhill slope after that crisp fall eve, but even still I prized highly above all else. I was waiting for the day that I could purchase another of his kind and restore his former glory, but neither of us knew when that day would come; though it would never have to.

On one seemingly uneventful afternoon, I found myself wandering my old stomping grounds, the Beige sea. It had been over a year since I had attented this school, and I found myself lementing the good old days while I took a seat on a swing. My legs were too large to make the clearance under the seat, so my feet scrapped carelessly at the gravel bellow. When I had felt I had enough of digging up my past, I dug my heels in and brought the joyless ride to a hault. There in the wet exposed gravel lay an oddly shaped stone, curiously jutting out of the ground. Before I had even bent down for a closer look the realization of what it could be struck me like a bolt of lightning. I dove to the ground to free it from it's mineral constraints, and my hopes had finally been reprised - after all this time, in all the pebbles of the world, the piece had found its way back to me. I have since never given up hope of good things happening, no matter the odds; and none was happier to see this tiny piece of rubber returned than my very best friend, Puddles.

Did those have a bum left arm?
Mine had the peg break on the left arm. And when we were moving, one of the homes we looked at had a kid's t-rex missing the same arm.

I was going through the Taco Bell drive-thru recently and inside the restaurant I could see a little girl holding a taco in one hand and a vintage MOTU He-Man (complete with accessories) in the other. Completely baffling.
