What's the rapiest rape price you've ever paid for a toy, /toy/?

I'm considering dropping almost $200 on Sentinel's Canti, but I just can't justify it to myself yet.

Not the absolute most I've paid for a figure; but in terms of the craziest inflated price I've paid for something: Takara Metals Megatron. $110, and I've heard of it selling for as cheap as $25 later on.
I found it totally worth it. I wanted this fucker badly, and I knew any Hasbro version is doomed to break apart. I'd just rewatched BW and was jonesing for a new TM Megatron, it felt fucking good to have it before the end of the week I ordered. For most releases, though, I try to be more careful.

$380

I know I might have gotten it for less, and once the hype dies down it will probably drop in price, but fuck it. I have money, and I am an impatient person.

I waited AGES for that fucker to pop up on Mandarake, but he eventually did. Glad I waited; he's great but not worth the scalper price.

Perception.
I paid $65 for my fighting JC worth every penny. He's basically the only humanoid from 3A that i truely enjoy. Useually when a figure is worth $60+ i try to hustle figures i don't care to much for anymore and use that toward my purchase.

That's more than most 1/6 12-inch 3A/Hot Toys/Sideshow/RAH figure. You wasted a ton of money on an unexceptional piece of shit because you were too busy getting anally pounded by the /toy/ hypetrain that Jin started for this figure.

I hope you're proud of yourself for feeding both Jin and the Scalpers. Maybe if you weren't such a fucking Kool-Aid drinker you'd actually have preordered it.

140 for SHMA King Ghidorah. He's been my favorite kaiju since I was a toddler and probably one of my favorite fictional characters in general. I kept considering buying him but wasn't sure if I should spend that much on a toy. Eventually I just realized that if I was getting so stressed out about trying to justify the purchase to myself it probably meant I wanted him badly enough to pay that price.

I don't own it, but I still think he's just a pretty cool humanoid robot. What I really love is that skeletal face he's got. Still, I can't justify the price and I like 1/12th scale figures more anyway, even if I could just pretend he's a large robot.

I'd hold out for a better deal. Canti is nice but unless you are an ultra mega fan then it's not $200 nice. If you are swimming in money though by all means get him.

I generally avoid paying rape prices for toys myself. I think i've only bought a few at double retail when JoJo figures were getting hard to find.

Yeah with the armor pieces on, Samurai Predator really does look awesome.
The redesigns from this guy are all top notch, loved his work on the Nausicaa God warrior. Still remember thinking this is the face deserving the "You are one ugly motherfucker!" line from Dutch, the bulges on the forehead/crest especially; just an unsettling feature to the looks I can't help but focus on when I take the biomask off.

Still wish some story could be made for the predator, one that shows it as possibly one of the first super/psycho predators. This one maybe isolating a whole feudal-era japanese village and planting xenos, though slaughtering the village before the xenos can actually use the populace themselves. Something where it's the monster first, and then a hunter.

I doubt it unless you lived in Japan in the late 90's. See,the one Megatron in the pic is the Takara ersion. I, too, had the Hasbro version from when it was on retail; however, due to the plastic used for that one, a lot of those figures tend to have the plastic degrade and break easily. Taakra's used a different plastic, and as a result those releases are generally not prone to breaking.

Do something fun like a raffle or a contest to win certain toys. Put up a toy you want to give away, then have something like a drawing or picture contest, best one gets the figure. since you're moving, you probably have some boxes to spare for shipping things. Have the winner pay shipping so you don't lose anything. Or simply do a BST, though that may be more time consuming and less fun.
