I'm a britbong who lives...

I'm a britbong who lives in the netherlands, my passport got a bit soaked.

Now the pages are all creased and some have water stains spoiling the designs on some of the pages.

However the main laminated page is fine and actually by definition, the passport is not damaged (i think~)

i'm flying back to the UK in 3 weeks. Can I get a new passport in this time? Do I need to apply for an emergency traveldoc?

I got family back home in the UK who can apply and then send one off to me, because i imagine doing it through the consulate is another delayed process :(

Could I travel on a passport like this?

You should be fine considering the main page is fine and that the UK-NL passport control shouldn't be anally strict.

Can't you apply for an "express passport" or something then when you're visiting your family? Not from UK but did that the last time I was visiting my family in Finland and got the passport in one working day

I might have to since i'm going to the US on the 9th of June.

The other problem is i'm an asian(like indian) fella, with goatee beard, so naturally i always get bit more clout anyway, so idk about traveliling on watersoaked passport

I managed to get through US passport control with a pretty busted passport (faded cover, folded pages but mint laminated page) a year or so ago, but I've never had any nationality-based problems so I don't know how much that affects it.

What about calling (or mailing so you can attach pictures) your consulate? I would imagine they would give you a pretty neutral/honest opinion if your passport is valid for travelling to UK.

I don't wana act to quick.
Me showing them that I have a problem with my passport, might make it difficult for my family back home to apply for a new one in my name (ie fooling the government into thinking i'm doing that).

I don't have any cosignators here and the waiting list is longer. So i'd have to get emergency travel docs which costs another 100 euro in addition to the cost of a new passport.

On the flipside, if i visit them and they say, yeah no problem, then i guess the whole problem goes away.
