Weekend travel to Poland Anonymous 08/03/14(Sun)21:08 UTC+1 No.882424 Report

Me and a friend wants to go to Poland to drink, relax and just see the views. We are both swedes and it's super cheap to fly to Poland, but we are wondering about what city to visit as well as what we can do there.

Gdansk costs 25 euro, Warzaw costs 50. We just want to go there to meet some cool people to hang out with and do some partying, nothing special just a fun weekend out in another country. Is Gdansk fun enough? Does Warzaw offer enough to warrant double the price? Anyone know where to go if you want to have a good time?

Hi, I'm from Gdansk. I often see and sometimes talk with sweds/norwegians (most of them are drunk as fuck but that's not important :D) and everyone was happy he was here.
Come to Gdansk. Now it's this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/St._Dominic%27s_Fair so it's a lot of people all over the world (or just Europe), every local is open longer, there are all day events etc. etc. Also weather now is really nice (sunny and warm). If You have some more q then ask.

I like Krakow, lots of cool cellar bars and creepy architecture, not to mention all of the drunk tourists.

Good to hear! I won't be going until September, but I'm sure i'll find something to do even though there's not a fair! Are there any good neighbourhoods where foreigners are exceptionally welcome and people won't try to con you because you don't know the language?

Yeah I've heard a lot of good things about Krakow, but it isn't cheap enough to go there to warrant a weekend visit. For the same price I could go to Barcelona or Venice.

The best of the big cities are Kraków, Wroc?aw and Gda?sk.

Warsaw is just big and full of concrete soviet-style architecture which replaced the city levelled during WWII. However, it is getting better every year.

Kraków is beautiful but overcrowded with tourists.

Wroc?aw and Gda?sk are lovely and not very popular.

If you don't mind going to a smaller city, Toru? is a real gem and is conveniently located.
