Start with tailor maid, satchels and spice of life. (That's all type 3 based)
You'll most likely find something you like in tailor maid. You can mix and match pieces of the 3 mods too. Most of it feels fairly vanilla, which is probably what you are looking for.

http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/35904/?
http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/44476/?
http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/36660/?
Ignore the shitty names and screenshots, it doesn't do the mods justice.

This type 6 armor is all right too, imo: http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/44342/?
Most T6M replacers are fairly slutty and the non replacers are pretty bad. Better off making something for yourself or begging another anon to help you out in that case.

I failed, /fog/
I thought i was over Fallout. Uninstalled it, even deleted my setups and all my mods. I said to myself that i would do something else, i had wasted too much times inside the Mojave.
And then i played other games, had other mistresses. It was all for naught. I kept thinking about fallout and TTW all this time. And finally, the weakness of man made itself present and here i am, downloading Fallout and TTW again, ashamed of myself

Any good new mods came out during those 6 months i managed to stay clean of Fallout?

>pew pew cobb is dead the city is safe
That's what the Legion would want. Criminals have no tolerance.

>send them to space anyway
Why would a member of the Legion want to irradiate a livable town? Save that for enemy encampments.

>redirect the power to everyone equally
Equal distribution gives the least possible to NCR without favoring any single foe. And Archimedes is not the way of the Legion, it is the way of the Old World.

>help the three faggots in the sierra madre and kill him
A member of the Legion would have a strong enough sense of duty and the will to resist temptation that would ensure the survival of his comrades in arms. And a member of the Legion would never side with a profligate so corrupted by Old World obsession.

>"fuck i will destroy the think tank then"
>help them
They are a danger only to themselves. At worst they will fade into obscurity as a monument to the folly of the Old World. At best their technology may be repurposed for the good of the Legion.

>"aughhh fuck daniel and the burned man"
>help them
The White Legs were failures anyway. By helping the Burned Man come to peace, you kill his legend and effectively kill the Burned Man.

>"I HAVE TO DO SOMETHING BAD I WILL NUKE EVERYTHING"
>disarm nukes in LR
The only acceptable option for one of Caesar's Legion other than nuking the NCR. The Legion's strength is in testing nations through conflict. While nuking the NCR would hasten the process the NCR will soon find the Legion at its doors. And in some ways it is better this way, as the nuke would be the triumph of the Old World, not the Legion.

The reason a lot of legionaries use melee weapons is because of its tribal background, not their stance against technology. Caesar tells you himself that in real life Rome was so powerful because of its willingness to use the best weapons available to them, and that's what he is doing. Something like that.

It's more that the body mods are disproportionately small.

That looks a lot like a vanilla head... looks less out of place with the vanilla body. Unfortunately, there's one core reason why "sexy" female characters are an impossibility with the mods presently available -- everything is built for the doll-like, disproportionate Type 3 or Type 6 bodies, which seem more fitting on anorexic tweens or teens, respectively.

I don't even remember, I downloaded lots of weapon packs like a year ago and was trying them out a few days ago at the gun runners. Some of them are really fucking bad. There is a H&K G11 with no iron sights or reload animation and a really low res texture. Quite a few bullpups, all completely broken of course because no proper reload animation, and 4 or 5 different M14 variants with wildly differing stats. Most of them are ok though.

It's not definitive. It's what you should expect from completely overthrowing the balance of power in the region, but it's nothing that shouldn't sort itself out in a few years. That's assuming that you work towards that. Which ending differences suggest you do not. Here's the House vs Independent slides for the same situation. Note how House deals with lawlessness eventually and Independent ignores it completely.

The ending slides show that the Courier has a very hands off approach which makes sense for a wanderer. It is about an Independent Vegas, not a Courier owned Vegas. And there is a lot of chaos and harm that comes with that anarchy.

You're talking out of your ass. The Courier isn't whoever you want him to be. He's potentially a large variety of things, but he's still a character they define.

He's a Courier from the West who's traveled a long time, most of his life. He's walked many roads and is defined by these roads as much as he defines the roads he walks on. And the very last thing we see, no matter what, is the Courier on the road.
>And so the Courier's road came to an end... for now. In the new world of the Mojave Wasteland, fighting continued, blood was spilled, and many lived and died - just as they had in the Old World. Because war... war never changes

So far all you're giving is just another interpretation and not really the quantative truth. My thesis is based on how the game is built as an open-ended RPG with a ridiculous amount of agency and freedom of expression and you haven't really tried to debunk any of that.

Also, within this framework you just defined, why then do you think they'd give you the impression that you're going to be the new boss of Vegas, right up to the finish line, and then do absolutely nothing? Why incidentally go all the way to make one ending to stand out as deliberately worse most of the time (assuming majority never went all the way to get the best possible variation) than most of the others?

A combination of the dialogue choices they provide, quest choices they provide and the epilogue slides they provide. The player is given a finite choice on which version of the Courier they play, but they don't have full control. The Courier will never, for instance, be a Frumentarii born and raised in Arizona.

>So far all you're giving is just another interpretation and not really the quantative truth.
No? Those are all immutable facts about your character that your choices don't change.

>My thesis is based on how the game is built as an open-ended RPG with a ridiculous amount of agency and freedom of expression and you haven't really tried to debunk any of that.
You are only as free to express yourself as the game gives options for. And the game itself tells you how the story ends. For you to say those don't matter because they disagree with how you imagine the Courier is just delusion.

>Also, within this framework you just defined, why then do you think they'd give you the impression that you're going to be the new boss of Vegas, right up to the finish line, and then do absolutely nothing?
They never do. Independent is always about making a New Vegas with whoever you want in it. You choose which factions will deserve to stay in Vegas. But after that you just let Vegas be Vegas. Benny, the man who came up with the plan you follow through, puts it best.
>Make Vegas a town I woulda been proud of, baby. Let it swing.
Its about giving New Vegas independence, not replacing House as its god.

>Why incidentally go all the way to make one ending to stand out as deliberately worse most of the time (assuming majority never went all the way to get the best possible variation) than most of the others?
I'm not even sure which one you're referring to here since most endings have an equal number of bad things happen. NCR has the least amount of bad things arguably, but they're all fairly gray.

You're interpreting again. You're not giving a solid definition of what kind of character he is. You say, I'm assuming, that the devs define who he is. So I'm asking who is he.. or she?

>The Courier will never, for instance, be a Frumentarii born and raised in Arizona.

Why not? I mean sure, one might have to go to some lengths to maybe justify it, but since all we definitely know of the Courier that he's been doing it for an unknown amount of time and been to the "West", I don't see why it's not a valid option for someone who forever would want to roleplay it as that.

>You are only as free to express yourself as the game gives options for.

Yeah, and? It's the same for all other RPGs out there. You need some boundaries by design. A full free-form RPG at this scale isn't really technically feasible. Not yet, anyway.

>And the game itself tells you how the story ends.

And that's what's still very much open for debate. We only know roughly how things are, we don't have a fully detailed story of how the future will pan out by any measury. Someone's going to have to fill in all the holes eventually.

> For you to say those don't matter

Only up to a point. Maybe you don't play a lot of RPGs, but usually the one's which give you room to roleplay (decent ones anyway) also let you stick to whatever path you created for yourself, good or ill. I wouldn't really have a problem with the ending if it was written along the lines of "despite the Courier's efforts, things still went to shitter". But as it is, it's just depressingly vague.

>They never do.

No, I'm really not. Play Lonesome Road. You're a courier from the West who has defined at least one road he walks along, and is defined by the Mojave at least.

>Why not? I mean sure, one might have to go to some lengths to maybe justify it, but since all we definitely know of the Courier that he's been doing it for an unknown amount of time and been to the "West", I don't see why it's not a valid option for someone who forever would want to roleplay it as that.
Because the Courier and Ulysses confirm that you weren't a part of the Legion until the events of the game.

>Yeah, and? It's the same for all other RPGs out there. You need some boundaries by design. A full free-form RPG at this scale isn't really technically feasible. Not yet, anyway.
The point is that because this isn't a tabletop RPG or a fiction you're writing, the control over the Courier's story isn't completely in your hands. The ending slides are completely valid and canon.

>And that's what's still very much open for debate. We only know roughly how things are, we don't have a fully detailed story of how the future will pan out by any measury. Someone's going to have to fill in all the holes eventually.
To assume that the ending slides aren't true is ridiculous. You can imagine whatever you want inbetween the cracks, but it isn't a very educated opinion if you ignore what the slides tell you.

If they did that then they'd be stomping on evil characters. The best would be to take character alignment into consideration for every slide, but that would triple the workload and voice acting for them. But being vague isn't a reason to freely ignore what they have to say. The epilogue is as canon as any dialogue.

>Well I'm not sure if we played the same game then. I guess I'll just have to agree to disagree.
Or you can start quoting and referencing the game like I've been doing the whole time.

>Independent. Thought it was obvious, but there you are.
You think Independent is worse than Lanius Legion in terms of having bad things happen? Seriously?

>But that's still kinda shitty ending if you actually had some other ideas for your character. Which is why I'm mostly skeptic about it.
The Courier probably doesn't stick around and give his opinion in any ending if it makes you feel better. He probably stays for awhile and then keeps moving.

>No, I'm really not. Play Lonesome Road. You're a courier from the West who has defined at least one road he walks along, and is defined by the Mojave at least.

So does that make him a good or bad character? Sounds kinda boring to me.

>Because the Courier and Ulysses confirm that you weren't a part of the Legion until the events of the game.

Okay so, can you point me to the proof?

>The point is that because this isn't a tabletop RPG or a fiction you're writing, the control over the Courier's story isn't completely in your hands.

You're kinda preaching the choir here. But whatever.

>The ending slides are completely valid and canon.

For whatever you can confirm for a fact from them, yes. There's still no definitive destination for the Courier, unless you take the symbolism for having reached the end of the story, for now, literally.

>To assume that the ending slides aren't true is ridiculous.

Come to think of it, at this point I'm only really questioning your interpretation of them, not the slides themselves.

>If they did that then they'd be stomping on evil characters.

What do you mean?

>The best would be to take character alignment into consideration for every slide.

Yeah, you really need to elaborate on your point because I've no idea where you're coming from here.

You think Independent is worse than Lanius Legion in terms of having bad things happen?

I only said "most of them", not all of them.

>Or you can start quoting and referencing the game like I've been doing the whole time.

You've only quoted this

>And so the Courier's road came to an end... for now. In the new world of the Mojave Wasteland, fighting continued, blood was spilled, and many lived and died - just as they had in the Old World. Because war... war never changes

and this

>Make Vegas a town I woulda been proud of, baby. Let it swing.

>Okay so, can you point me to the proof?
Sure.
>Courier: I didn't side with the Legion until the Mojave.
>Ulysses: I know that now. Doesn't change what was done. The Legion who died here.

>There's still no definitive destination for the Courier, unless you take the symbolism for having reached the end of the story, for now, literally.
Never claimed to know where he was going next.

>Come to think of it, at this point I'm only really questioning your interpretation of them, not the slides themselves.
Only interpretation I've put forward is that the Independent Vegas ending doesn't see the Securitrons policing people too much, outside of ending the immediate violence on the Strip. Which seems pretty reasonable to me. Give me some counter points.

>What do you mean?
Assuming the Courier would try to keep things peaceful would contradict an evil Courier who supported all the chaos that comes with Independence.

>Yeah, you really need to elaborate on your point because I've no idea where you're coming from here.
This conversation line originated because of complaints that the end results would be up to your character. Having different ending results depending upon your character's karmic alignment would be a step towards this, which the Courier slides already do.

>I only said "most of them", not all of them.
There are only 4(4.5 counting Lanius) major ending choices. And they're all pretty equal.

>None of which really support your position. Assuming I've understood you correctly at all.
First one shows that the Mojave isn't the final destination for the Courier so he wouldn't stick around to rule New Vegas like House would. Second one shows that the intent behind the Independent ending is to let Vegas be Vegas ("Let it swing").

See last time I played I remember deathclaws being intimidating but easy to kill monsters, who a hand loaded .308 round from a sniper or a .50mg round from a AMR would clean up. I tried going through Quarry Junction today and got cleaned up by these dudes. 1 hit killed, .50 cal only scratching them and melee being suicide.

Fallout 3

While it is a bit silly, most troops are equipped with radios. While there's no excusing if they never see you, if they do then can imagine they radioed in seeing the Courier and when they immediately turn up missing people can figure out who did it. It isn't perfect though, I'll admit. Could been a lot more fine tuned. Still as a whole I like the addition of the mechanic. As for the quest thing, which quests that give faction rep don't involve communicating with faction members?

The Fallout 3 analogy isn't really applicable since no one knows you did anything except for the quest givers and Three Dog.

"As the decades passed, the Hidden Valley Bunker remaining closed, messages between the Brotherhood and Mr House slowed and finally stopped, despite the latters occasional attempts to make contact. To he whom had initially seen the chapters destruction, the silence spoke volumes. In 2311, from the sands of the wastes, the regrouped Brotherhood emerged. Though a single generation of breeding could not fully replenish their numbers, it was enough. Having prepared, quietly enraged by the technology House kept to himself and used to rule, life support and Securitrons both, powered armored soldiers struck the thriving Vegas like the fist of an angry god.

Plasma weapons, Gauss Rifles, and pulse technology mowed down Securitrons as easily as bullets did mortal men. Even in their upgraded form, the robotic armies weapons struggled to do more than paltry damage to the ancient but still potent power armor, worn by a skilled and vigorous generation of highly trained soldiers raised for this moment. Though the Brotherhoods losses were terrible, and the civilian death toll beyond count, they breached the Lucky 38 and Mr House met other beings for the last time - looking down the barrel of a Gauss rifle.

The lights of New Vegas went out once more, perhaps this time forever."

It's a bit convoluted until I actually upload the mod with pre-fixed shader packages.

>What is the lore-portrayal of power armor, rather than Bethesda gameplay.

They can handle grenades without flinching, and rockets typically do minimal damage unless its a direct hit. Note that I do believe the Brotherhood would take losses, but they are almost uniquely suited to taking on a robot army. I really, really can't be bothered, so i'll yield the point that i'm not all that invested in. I feel I covered the fact that plenty of Brotherhood soldiers would still die adequately, but perhaps should have worded the sentence you're nitpicking more carefully. I still firmly believe that a Brotherhood left in peace to breed and plot for a generation or three poses the biggest threat to House, because their defensive tech really does close the gap, and their weaponry is superior.

The civilian death toll really would be terrible. All those rockets and grenades flying around, and I doubt either side would really care.

Oh, never mind, found it.

>2067: The first suit of T-45d power armor is deployed for combat duty among American infantrymen fighting the Chinese occupation of Alaska. While lacking the full mobility of future versions of the armor, this early suit of power armor is incredibly effective against conventional Chinese tanks and infantry. Its ability to allow a single infantryman to carry heavy ordnance becomes key in various localized conflicts during the Sino-American War, and it has the power to destroy entire towns without endangering the wearer from attacks by conventional firearms or even missile launchers. The Chinese People's Liberation Army rushes to create its own versions, but the Chinese are many years behind the United States' work on the project.

You really didn't. You say the Securitrons "struggled to do more than paltry damage" to the BoS members. Then the very next sentence you state that "the Brotherhoods losses were terrible". The fuck? How did the Securitrons go from barely scratching them to murdering scores?

Nice, completely ignore the follow up post where I found the quote I based my writing on. If that's your level of reading comprehension, i'm not particularly eager to keep conversing.

As for the losses, even power armor isn't invulnerable, or at least the people in them aren't. Bullets/lasers find joints. Eye plates get penetrated. A suit is in bad condition or has been refurbished with inferior materials. People take losses in war, even the Brotherhood. We don't know how many Securitrons ol' House has, and even a dozen men lost is a fair blow to a small chapter like the Mojave Brotherhood.

>Nice, completely ignore the follow up post where I found the quote I based my writing on. If that's your level of reading comprehension, i'm not particularly eager to keep conversing.
The follow up quote changed absolutely nothing about what I had to say. Your narrative lacked any indicator of what caused terrible losses to the BoS. You literally go from "they were barely taking damage" to "oh god so many are dead" from one sentence to the next. You seem to be the one who lacks reading comprehension, or are under the assumption that all of /fog/ is a single person out to criticize you.

>As for the losses, even power armor isn't invulnerable, or at least the people in them aren't. Bullets/lasers find joints. Eye plates get penetrated. Those are the kind of things you have to mention to have a story make sense. You can't assume everyone will have the exact same stream of consciousness as you. Also the BoS are going to have to be killing well over 10 Securitrons to every Knight if a dozen men is a fair blow. There were enough Securitrons to drive out both the Legion and the NCR, albeit weakened in a fight with one another.

The Brotherhood failed in the mojave because they didn't had enough numbers. The brotherhood never had enough personnel, they were always selective and that hurt them. No matter how skilled your soldiers are, if you field 10 guys against 200 NCR soldiers you're going to lose and that's what happened. The brotherhood in new vegas suffered for all their segregative ways during past games. No technology can help you when you're terribly outnumbered and that's why McNamara wanted them all to shelter up. Did you fuckers even played the game?

1 is good for a yearly play, and is a quality experience (once you get over the isometric, if you're not used to it), but is pretty short. Number 2 is an amazing game, perhaps the best in the series in my opinion, and should keep you entertained for days and weeks, and can be played over and over.

Very true, but your are discounting how well the Brotherhood did at (for example) Helios. The Brotherhood were cutting down wave after wave of men sent at them, at least 10 to one, and actually survived as a group. That's pretty fucking amazing.

House has his Securitron army, and it likely does outnumber the Brotherhood (even after breeding for a few gens), but its weapons are much better against lightly armored infantry than highly trained, technological, and armored special forces. If the Brotherhood was to move on House, after a few decades, you can be damn sure they would have a plan - and it would likely be a dedicated strike on the Lucky 38.

I'd imagine a small scale battle to draw as many Securitrons away as possible, with a mininuke breach of the Vegas perimeter wall. Pulse, plasma, and gauss to take out the defenders, and a strike team heads inside the casino and cuts off the head.

They are hardly going to match on Vegas in formation and wave a flag around, demanding honorable combat. They would also likely want as many 'trons as possible, because if they had control of them, thats less people in the field.

My Brotherhood-loyal playthrough went Yes Man primarily to hand the army over to the Brotherhood.

Even a few generations would not be enough time to muster a proper force. They would need to connect with another branch of the Brotherhood. You just can't get a sizable army out of a few dozen people. House's securitrons likely number in the hundreds.

>after a few decades, you can be damn sure they would have a plan - and it would likely be a dedicated strike on the Lucky 38.
And House would have to be stupid to ignore a growing threat. He'd be preparing for it the entire time. Although, to be fair this is a silly hypothetical given he wants to eliminate them immediately anyway. I can't think of a good reason he'd wait for them to grow.

>I'd imagine a small scale battle to draw as many Securitrons away as possible, with a mininuke breach of the Vegas perimeter wall. Pulse, plasma, and gauss to take out the defenders, and a strike team heads inside the casino and cuts off the head.
I find it hard to imagine so many Brotherhood of Steel members could mobilize without drawing House's notice. It would work if they could reach New Vegas with House none the wiser but that seems unlikely. It would be a lot messier if they have to fight through the bulk of his army, which he wouldn't mind wasting to save his own skin. Which then turns into a messy slugfest that the BoS can't afford.

>My Brotherhood-loyal playthrough went Yes Man primarily to hand the army over to the Brotherhood.
I really wish this was an option supported by the game. On a side note, are there any mods that add something like this?

I'm playing TTW and that's honestly the biggest problem if have with the game

There's not enough dialogue options
Characters are underdeveloped
I can't let my character say what i want him to say
The game limits me and that makes me pretty mad

Fo3 dialogue was
>goody two shoes
>mercenary
>evul bad gay

In NV, there were shades of grey, the dialogue was more varied and better written, which of course is not surprising because Obsidian simply has better writers than Bethsoft and is better at making RPGs, while Bethesda is good at making open-world games

It's all a matter of subjective taste, but saying that dialogues in 3 were not a huge step down from 1 and 2 is simply wrong.
NV is on par with 1 and 2 in terms of dialogue but suffers from the engine 3 had

That's all there is to it

I prefer Dead Money/Honest Hearts/Old World Blues/Lonesome Road.

Dead Money is nice to do early on since it takes away all of your neat equipment anyway. Also a good boost to your caps if you can sneak away some gold, and the Holorifle is always nice.

Honest Hearts is the easiest one and pretty short so that's next. And Lonesome Road is pretty definitively the "final" DLC, which the others all build up to, so it should be played last.

Legion actually does its job of keeping the land safer. Not 100% safe and their law is hard, but the deal is attractive to people. That's one I missed, Cass tells you of the possibility of towns joining the Legion because you can actually trade without carrying seven thousand kilograms of ammo, but it never really happens.

There's a hardcoded amount of animation slots, most of which are used by vanilla stuff. There's a couple of unused ones, but those are already used up by other custom animations.

Additionally there's literally no documentation on exporting animations correctly for New Vegas so the only two people who know how to put custom animations in are joefoxx082 and Heffy.

I find that I don't like FCO, which rather than helping the look of the NPCs just makes them look all the more surreal when they do things like 'smile'. Doctor Mitchel became truly horrifying.

Things is, I only downloaded it to go with New Vegas Redesigned 3, for things liked the burned mayor, and injured people, and corpses with cause of death visible.

I tried Redesigned 2, but while it makes people less shitty without needing FCO, it is missing the details that drew me to its later edition.

Short of cannibalizing the mod for its textures and meshes, and throwing together a quick a dirty version over a day or so, are there any other options? Has anyone seen any alternatives that improve the details in the game, such as the corpses?

-Max base game HP in New Vegas = 445
-DT from best Light armor in vanilla(Vault 34 security armor) = 19
-DT from best heavy armor in vanilla(Encalve Power armor = 36
http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Damage_Threshold
-DT: Like in previous games, DT is an outright subtraction: if a shot is fired with a damage value of 40 against a DT of 10, then 10 damage will be ignored. However, unlike in Fallouts 1 and 2, DT cannot outright reduce an attack to below 20% of its adjusted, pre-DT damage.
-10mm pistol does 22 damage
-Anti Material rifle does 110

Using DT, and comparing how many hits it would take to kill you with max hp and the best light/heavy armor we get
-Light armor
22(damage from 10mm)-19(dt)=4.4(damage taken, since Dt cant reduce below 20%)
445(hp)/4.4(damage)=101.13(shots to kill)
-Heavy armor
22-36=4.4
445/4.4=101.13
Going from the best light armor to the best heavy armor lets you survive ZERO more shots from a 10mm.

Using the AMR we get
-light armor
110-19=91
445/91=4.89
-Heavy armor
110-36=74
445/74=6.01
Going from the best light armor to the best heavy armor, while at max vanilla HP, lets you survive literally only ONE more shot from a AMR.

Using those same values, but switching DT to Fallout 3's DR, and using DR's % based damage reduction, we get
-Light armor
22*.19=4.18
22-4.18=17.82
445/17.82=24.97
-Heavy armor
22*.36=7.92
22-7.92=14.08
445/14.08=31.6
Going from the best light armor to the best heavy armor lets you survive 7 more hits from a 10mm, compared to NV's ZERO.

Using the AMR we get
-Light armor
110*.19=20.9
110-20.9=89.1
445/89.1=4.99
-Heavy armor
110*.36=39.6
110-39.6=70.4
445/70.4=6.3
Roughly the same as New Vegas

but lets also not forget, Fallout 3's highest heavy armor DR rating was 60, which gives us values of
10mm
22*.6=13.2
22-13.2=8.8
445/8.8=50.5
or 25 more shots from a 10mm
and
AMR
110*.6=66
110-66=44
445/44=10.11
or 5 more shots from an AMR

Tl:DR version.

getting more DT from medium and heavy armor doesn't actually let you survive more hits, yet it can weight twice as much, cost up to 10X as much to repair, and slows movement by 15% compared to light armor

Honestly, some of that shit was better then the crybaby companion infodumps in NV.

Why do RPG makers think that making people who never do anything to improve their lives ever until the magical PC comes along to fix their lives for them makes for convincing or believable NPCs?

It wouldn't have been so bad if they didn't repeat the exact same parts of their backgrounds over and over, at least Bioware just to the chase most of the time

Ah, an expert. Okay, let's discuss how we can fix the clipping here. We have a few options:
a) make a new animation altogether that allows for the pump to be folded down properly and used vertically like it's supposed to be.
b) adjust the existing handgrip so that the left hand sits lower and elimiates the clipping
c) fold the handle up all the way so it's parallel with the magazine tube
d) resize the gun to an unreasonably small size so that it won't clip

Now let's discuss why they won't work.

a) Nobody really knows how to make new animations and only a very few know how to alter and overwrite the existing ones. If someone made a whole new animation, it would overwrite the existing shotgun animation meaning every regular pump action shotgun wouldn't look right. Furthermore, using up another animation slot instead of overwriting is possible, but again, nobody is really familiar with how.

b) Handgrips are even more limited than regular animations. There's only a very, VERY limited amount of handgrips allowed and adjusting/overwriting them would cause a lot of incompatibilities with any other weapons that uses them. So, again, even if someone had the knowledge to adjust it and overwrite it, you'd be screwing over an untold amount of weapons for one weapon.

c) it's bad enough that the gun is already not being racked the way it's supposed to be, vertically, flipping it the other direction would look even dumber and make virtually no sense.

d) Not an option.

Read the notes inside Vault 87 twit, they explain it all.

but since you apparently NEED to be spoonfed.

Vault 87 was given FEV as part of the Vault project in order to make super soldiers for the post-war world, the first people they mutated died, later, after refining the process, they had successful super mutants, who ended up overpowered the security staff and then forcibly mutating everyone else.

The process is also automated, again, if you actually PAY ATTENTION, you go by several rooms with FEV vents in that where all you have to do is press a button on a computer screen in order to release the FEV into the room

A. if you used the FEV on the purifier turning it on would eventually mean they would die from the poisoned water

B. even if you didn't infect the purifier, there is a very likely chance it could kill them in any number of other ways, such as exploding, when they turn it on.

So are there any mods that add a decent new storyline to new vegas?
Or is all this essentially window dressing on the same story?

If only the purpose behind going after Benny wasn't non nonexistent that even Jsawyer said there's no real reason to go after Benny.

If only Benny had actually done SOMETHING to progress his plans rather then just sit on his ass in his casino ALL DAY for no reason

If only the factions other then House had an actual reason to want you to help them to make them asking you to help them believable.

If only most of the "help us win the war" quests actually involved doing shit like taking out enemy camps, and training soldiers, rather then being force fed into every minor faction simply because Obsidian didn't make a post-game and wanted you to talk to everyone before the game ended no matter how illogical or hamfisted the connections they made for these minor factions to be tied to the MQ.

If only the final boss was actually believable and couldn't be talked down from the fight with an argument not even a 5 year old would fall for.

If only Obsidian could WRITE.

If you read Randall Clark's logs it says that he wants the Sorrows to learn to not fight amongst themselves, but to beat the shit out of anyone who threatens them as a group.

It has a high displayed DPS ingame, but that is glitched and inaccurate. Its actual DPS is roughly equal to the Anti-Material rifle's, due to the mini-reload inbetween shots.

>A. if you used the FEV on the purifier turning it on would eventually mean they would die from the poisoned water
They typically have no clue you have it.

>B. even if you didn't infect the purifier, there is a very likely chance it could kill them in any number of other ways, such as exploding, when they turn it on.
Don't be dishonest, there is no reason to believe turning it on will do anythign harmful. They do, however, have Doc Li yelling that if they DON'T turn it on it will certainly explode. If they aren't already running, thats not a concern for them.

>They are your friends, not your slaves. Anyone would say no if you told them to jump off a 1,000 foot cliff unless they were retarded.

If I had, say, wings (as mutants are practically immune to the radiation, its an apt comparison) and they had dropped their insulin? Damn fucking right I would. You can ask them in Broken Steel precisely because it won't harm them but will kill you. It's actually pretty much how you and Fawks become pals.

Not the anon you were going back and forth with, but such blatant intellectual dishonestly bugs me.

Er, as much as I want to disagree, this anon has a point. For the first year or so, the game used to fizzle for me when I hit New Vegas, until I stared making my own motivation, precisely for these reasons.

Unless you are an 80s action hero, there is no reason to chase down the guy who shot you in the head, into his own turf. So, even if you care, its tough to justify if you roleplay.

I typically use the threat of bounty hunters on the recipe, but even then, you probably have enough caps to pay off the job (as it is listed a a low cost trinket, not its true value) before even reaching Primm.

These days, I just turn my brain off for that portion, and then fall in with House upon reaching Vegas. Working for him, and maybe having the best interests of the NCR at heart, works as motive.

Because, as has been mentioned like three times, weight of numbers and dedicated anti-power armor weaponry. Hate to bring up FO3 to support lore, but in OA you need to shut down a pulse-field so the T-51b don't get fried. Pulse grenades are supposed to work as well. Veronica can guide you to a pulse handgun in NV.

Aside from that, the NCR don't do well against the Brotherhood man to man. Look at their losses at Helios, even if they took the objective. Towards the end the Brotherhood were standing on the corpses of their enemies, and they still had enough fight in them to retreat rather than get destroyed as a Chapter when it became clear they would lose. Back in NCR, I imagine this is the reason they blow up the Brotherhoods bunkers. And again, you can;t stress weight of numbers enough. Put enough bullets into a suit, and its going to find a weakness or eye slit eventually.
