You meant the old stats, not my changes. There is a difference there. Miscommunication. I'm against lowering the special defense as electron cloud density can lead to shielding from energy absorbancy. It has some concept creedence for special defense, but the defense part is a bit iffy.

With your changes, I suggest taking 10 defense into special defense

Because things need roles. All mons have roles. Heals, DPS, Tank. Those are the general roles for RPGs. With pokemon, it is spread out and more diverse. So we fill those roles. We have 225 pokemon that we labored to vote in to their spot in the dex. If it isn't usable it is a waste of a spot in the dex

Its current moveset is pretty heavily physical but that can be adjusted.
But Eldonkeyo had No Guard Zap Cannon so avoiding Zap Cannon seems like a good idea to me. What the heck else is there?
To me, honestly, Chameleohm reminds me of the gecko/iguana whatever boss from KH and whatever the elder dragon's name from monster hunter was.

Surveys for height aren't a consensus at all when they grab the average of all of the results. We don't survey gym leaders then agglomerate all of the concepts in proportion to how many votes they got. We shouldn't do it with height either. People have a definite image of a mon in their head that allows a bit of wiggle room for exact height for a few inches. We see Terrorcotta as as larger as a house or perhaps slightly smaller and we see Comossus, the Golems, etc. as fuckhuge. These are a majority consensus on a height concept but people like tin soldier anon come along with their views of Comossus as a foot tall and fuck it all up. It doesn't even need to be to that extent. We need a different way to deal with heights, preferably in thread consensus. What we got as a result of these surveys is basically worthless in the eyes of the vast majority of people.

Feebas learns many more moves than Magikarp because the focus of its design isn't being weak as it is with Magikarp. Likewise, Fortifry,s movepool shouldn't be as dramatically limited.

Also, via speed min-maxing - speed is the kind of stat you have to do with other mons in mind. Speed tiers are one of the most metagame defining aspects and in that stat, substracting 4 points really means a lot.

What reason do we have not to survey the boars besides "because no"? We have other things like that to survey anyway, it would be so easy to throw it in and see what the people think. Just because it's in a survey doesn't mean the new one will win, and if it does then it's because the majority likes it better. We seem pretty split on this issue and it's not much extra work at all to add it to a survey, so why wouldn't we? for abilities, we had a pretty decent time limit given for people to submit new abilities for inclusion in the game so I don't know why you didn't have them submitted already...

Same for attacks...

Though one could argue that the time between the ability/attack submission deadline and the release of XY was too short for us to have known what was worth including from the new gen.

as for mechanics, I'm kind of ambivalent on the subject, I mean, it should be fine as long as we don't include anything that has to do with fairies... but at the same time, aren't most of the mechanics changes in Gen 6 a direct result of trying to balance the game after the introduction of the new typing? Couldn't any mechanics changes result in balance issues for our own game if we're not also including the new typing?

IDK, I've always wondered why your pokemon doesn't receive Exp. points for battles where you captured a mon, since the pokemon is technically 'experiencing' the battle you would think it would gain exp as long as it fought at all... though if you're gonna have capture exp I guess the next logical step would be runaway exp and having opponent NPC trainers pokemon levelup after KOing one of your mons.

if we're gonna consider including gen6 mechanics then can we discuss original mechanics?

(I can't think of anything that's not terribly OP[like haing digging mons have a chance of suffocating in a tunnel collapse], but I'm just asking if we should keep the option open for discussion)

I would personally cream my pants if we made crit hits dependent upon an action command (in genvp constantly mashing the 'a' button actually does do something!)

I think more of what they had in mind was that wish would be a really low level or/start move so you would really necessarily have to use a heart scale to learn it. Some GF pokemon do it and I personally find it a big pain in the ass and over complication of the level up while knowing a certain move concept

Some Pokémon have 5+ moves it learns at "Start". A Pokémon of that species obtained at level 1 would only know the last 4 of those moves, which means the others could never be learned by level up, even if they technically appear in the level-up movepool.

The Move Relearner (who charges Heart Scales) is the only way to access those moves.

or a mon who you catch old enough that wish was already replaced with a different move anyway?

it would have to be the second one since Fortifry is our magicarp/feebas expy and will likely be catchable at fairly low levels.

- Ball/bomb moves (Bulletproof ability gives immunity to these)
- Biting moves (powered up by Strong Jaw ability)
- Substitutes no longer block sound-based moves

Obviously three of them only matter if the related abilities are to be used.

If Fortifry has Wish as a start move, and you breed it or catch a wild (let's say its first available at level 10, by which it's learned six moves and "forgot" two, one being Wish so that it doesnt have it) you could Heart Scale it on anyway, and evolve immediately at level 11 (wild) or as early as level 2 if hatched.

Yes, you can have the Move Relearner teach any move that the Pokémon could have learnt at any level lower than its current level ("Start" counts as level 1).

Even if you choose to skip learning Wish at level 32, you can come back later on and get the Move Relearner to teach it after all.

I'd kinda dig that. I like the current moveset for Fortifry, but I do think it's a bit too easy to avoid any kind of challenge this way. Some semblence of utility or even just interest would be much approved of.
