Did this game have frame rate issues? I played this on the Gamecube port and the game slowed down almost all the time. I never played the version on N64, so was this the case for the original, and the Gamecube port sucks hard? But MM thread, this game was awesome

I don't think the original version had any issues with slowdown. The GC slowdown is a result of the emulation quality. In fact, the GC version of the game freezes pretty regularly due to poor memory management.

The GCN port is notorious for having MM slow down.
So no, there're no issues in the original.

Best version is Virtual Console.

it's pretty accurate, MM ran like shit on N64 too. I don't think there's a single area that doesn't have drastic slowdowns. The worst offenders are the swamp and the ocean areas.

The GC version is fine as long as you remember to save often. It can be annoying to go through the whole save procedure with MM, though.

One thing that helps is keeping the rumble feature disabled. That seems to make the emulator less prone to crashing.

not much, remember this game requires the expansion pack and it was also one of the last games released

Wrong.

The N64 version is even slower. Speedrunners prefer VC because it's faster.

Care to provide something more substantial than that? Maybe a video comparison?
