ITT games that will help you learn Japanese or Chinese.

>Its the Chinese FF2, but all the Kanji I learned is way easier to find here than it is in the Japanese FF2. It kind of pisses me off how little Kanji there is in Japanese games.

I understand that in the context of Chinese it's called Hanzi, but they are the exact same characters I learned in an attempt to better understand Japanese, and ironically all my learning has served to better understand a Chinese game than a Japanese one.

Be careful, they're similar only to an extent.

I'd say grammar is the problem here. Chinese has a very reduced grammatical system and an identical word order to English, while Japanese word order is a bit more complex and the whole particle system isn't really straightforward.

Take some visual novels and hook them up on AGTH/ITH if you want to make your learning fun.

The real problem is I don't know too many real words in Kana.

Just learn how to type them in romanji and google them to build vocabulary.

Wait, did the Chinese make their own version of FF2? Even if it existed as an NES game?

Is it a meme on /vr/ to pretend not to know that FF2 was released on the NES, or is this board infested with /v/irgins?

I don't think so. You won't find many (untranslated) visual novels on tpb. Try Nyaa/Nyaa.Sukebe.

I'm not really into retro visual novels, so I don't know if I could give proper recommendations. Also, read this http://visualnovelaer.fuwanovel.org/2011/12/how-to-read-visual-novels-in-japanese-in-2-years-time-step-by-step-guide-%E2%80%95-learn-to-read-through-vn-or-anime/

Nah, the site is just down which is quite funny because I visited it just a few hours ago. Odd.
