This game can be had for $15, factory sealed on ebay. Worth it? It looks pretty interesting.

It has a moth or some shit dressed up as a 1920s gangster with a tommy gun. I'm going to say yes.

Never played it, but I want to.

If you're in Yurop, get the expanded port for the PS2 instead.

Yowza, look at that Kaneko art. Never even heard of this game but I'm a sucker for anything related to SMT

Out of curiosity, why was that expanded port cleared for localization in Europe but not the US?

Ignore this guy. That version removed the first person view for a third person one which pretty much destroyed the entire draw of this game.

it's ages that i read about this game, so i might be mistaking stuff.
but i think i read in the review of the dreamcast game back in the day that the controls were clunky, and later on it was too difficult to turn around while fighting multiple enemies or stuff. it was considered sort of hit and miss. as in either you'll love that game for it's concept and designs or you'll hate it, because you can't get the controls down.
as for the ps2 remake the reviewers said it fixed many problems in controls and perspective (ego view to 3rd person camera) and was now more accessible.
that just from my reccollection.

i own the psn version, was 5 or 10 €uros. played the first half an hour. it's pretty solid. aged a little, but nothing deal breaking, works quite fine. relative simple 3d hacknslash gameplay and pacing. the (enemy) designs are outstanding and make you whish for a highres texture mod, or 1080p emulation. (comparable to smt nocturne in visuals)

just for comparison if it helps any:
shinobi (ps2) is a 3d hack'n'slash of around the same era. but it is the more polished game, that feels a little less aged.
i enjoyed my short playtime so far.

Because SCEA had "standards" that don't allow games to be released in the US if it doesn't have a certain amount of improved content for some reason.

This is the reason that we didn't get the Mega Man PSX releases, and plenty of other games that were essentially ports, even though the original game was never available on the PSX.

It is very much worth it. I recently picked up a new copy for $15 in fact. I just finished it yesterday. It's a pretty short game, but there are 8 different endings I think. It's a great addition to any DC collection.

Wow. For some reason I was only thinking that it applied to games originally on Sony systems, such as why Breath of Fire III PSP and Tales of Eternia PSP were never brought stateside.

I enjoyed it, though I could never get the "good" ending.

The manga adaption was done by Hayashida Q aka Dorohedoro lady. It's a fun read for just 3 volumes.
